In these turbulent times in Nigeria and globally, many have been misled by the media, often believing narratives that do not reflect the full truth like the Hunter’s lapto, Russia Collusion and many fake news while the real news are unreported.
Since 2015, I have relied not on mainstream news but on the Holy Spirit—the Spirit of Truth, our ultimate fact-checker, teacher, and guide as promised in John 16 vs 12-15 and Joh 14 vs 15-16, 25-27).
Sadly, many today have not been taught to know, hear, or be led by the Holy Spirit, though Scripture declares, “As many as are led by the Spirit of God, they are the sons and daughters of God” (Romans 8 vs 14).
During crises like Covid, many accepted misinformation without discernment from God and believed, and compromised for exegesis sake..
The coming of Christ will surprise many, just as in the days of Noah, when few were saved (Matthew 24 vs 37-39). What does God require has more value, than the entire Global Media narratives!!!
Where is the voice of God…some of us think we are smart and intelligent but the nation we have built is evidence of our folly! Yes lives are saved but Jesus Christ dies for lands and nations to be saved too! Half gospel will not do!
God’s love and justice are demonstrated through the death and resurrection of Christ, but these do not prevent His judgments.
As Isaiah 61:1-2 and Matthew 4) remind us, Jesus came to bring good news to the poor—those out of touch with God’s opportunities can come into New opportunities in Christ.
It is a false narrative to claim that God hates the poor; rather, He hates the poverty that affects mankind. Likewise, denying that wealth is part of Kingdom opportunity is also an error. Money is a tool for advancing God’s purposes, not to be worshipped, and prosperity should expand the Kingdom, not inflate egos (Zach. 1 vs 17).
Yet, having wealth does not guarantee favor with God or access to heaven—remember, the rich man went to hell while poor Lazarus was comforted in paradise (Luke 16 vs 19-31).
The Church must awaken to the resurrection power in Christ, moving beyond shallow messages that cater to pride or promote poverty. This season is a reminder of God’s incredible love and our responsibility, especially as a nation with a vast, intelligent youth population, to present ourselves honorably before God.
God calls us to build “sheep nations” through His wisdom and resurrection power, not by erecting temporary monuments or celebrating political appointments (Matthew 25 vs 31-36) and God judged people based on the Social atmosphere they created.
True reform, as seen in the lives of Martin Luther, John Calvin, John Wesley, and Florence Nightingale, transforms nations beyond the church walls.
Nigeria and African Christians must move beyond empty rhetoric to practical impact with empirical data!
As Isaiah 1 warns, God is weary of meetings that do not produce justice or righteousness. The Church and its leaders, not God, are responsible for the state of our nation.
We must embrace our mandate as the light and salt of the earth. As John Wesley said, redemption should lead to social reformation. Escapist theology that focuses only on heaven ignores our duty to “occupy until He comes.” The resurrection restores our dominion, not for self-exaltation, but to serve humanity. READ ISAIAH 1 VERSES 11-19 IN THE MESSAGE BIBLE TRANSLATION!!!!!!
Prayers stir the spiritual realm, but it is our responsibility to build and transform our nation. We must stop fleeing to developed countries and instead create conditions for growth and return, just as other nations have done.
Some would need to go and bring back templates but we cannot go without thinking about our nation and people. Neither should we go into nations with the intent to disrupt what others laboured to build! O Church of Christ, wake up!
Unfortunately, many church programmes focus only on increasing membership, not preparing believers for true Kingdom impact.
Wealth is not for self-indulgence while our people and cities suffer.
In 2025 and beyond, a storm is coming—let us examine ourselves and our leadership. Some ministries will fade because they have outlived their purposes and some will be broken up to be useful.more to God! Let God have His way leaders!
The resurrection power is available to raise lives, communities, and nations for God’s glory.
Let us put aside division and pride, and awaken to our calling. As the voice in the wilderness cries: Prepare the way of the Lord! Church and leaders, wake up and experience the resurrection power that can transform lives, cities, and nations. Resurrection power is available—WAKE UP!
