Israel and Iran has agreed to a ceasefire on June 24. Let’s cast our minds back to the war. What in your opinion was the cause of the 12-day war?
When the war began I said it will not lead to the Third World War as speculated by some folks. Nevertheless, there is a reason for the war, and I think it’s long overdue.
Before the October 7, 2023 invasion of Israel by Hamas, Iran has continually armed and financed its proxies, including Hamas, to cause mayhem in Israeli cities and villages, and Israel has had to contend with these Iranian proxies for too long. The Islamic Regime of Iran directly funds these terrorist organizations. Right now, Israel is fighting on five fronts, Hamas in Gaza, Hezbollah in Lebanon, Houthis in Yemen, Islamist Jihadists in Syria, and now Iran.
What is their motivation or reason for the fight against Israel?
I believe it is a quest for regional supremacy, contention over Jerusalem, and Annihilation of Israel or expulsion from their land.
It will surprise you to know that there is not even one time in the Quran where Jerusalem is mentioned as one of the Islamic Holy Cities. From the days of King David, Jerusalem has always been a Jewish City and shall remain so.
With all these attacks from different terrorist groups that are Iranian proxies, it was only a matter of time before Israel took the battle to Iran a.k.a. “The Head of the Snake”. So, the signs have been there over the last few years.
Sincerely, I hate war, and I hate bloodshed, but then, war is inevitable in this present world we live in. Nevertheless, besides the pains and losses that are associated with this kind of war, I think something good will come out of it which shall be of great benefit to the Iranians, the Middle East, the Western Countries, and the World at large.
Most importantly, I can still recall that a revival broke out in Iran during the COVID-19 lockdown of year 2020, this revival has been suppressed by the dictatorial spirit, and radical Islamism and ideologies of this present Iranian Regime. I am hopeful that at the end of the war, Iranians will have a new government that will allow freedom of worship, and if not abused or hijacked by Islamic extremists, it will allow Christianity to thrive in Iran for a season.
Is there any Biblical interpretation of what is happening now?
Yes, but not exactly as most people think. Some folks believe that this is the Ezekiel 38 and 39 war, which is generally known as the Gog and Magog War. Also, there are some others who are anticipating that it will degenerate into a third World War. It has not from what we have seen.
But.the war could be seen as part of the fulfillment of Jesus’ prophecy and signs of the end time which He declared at the Mount of Olive shortly before He was crucified.
According to the Scripture in Matthew 24:6-7, Jesus prophetically declares:
“And ye shall hear of wars and rumors of wars: see that ye be not troubled: for all these things must come to pass, but the end is not yet.
For nation shall rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom: and there shall be famines, and pestilences, and earthquakes, in divers places.”
Indeed, we have seen wars, and heard of rumors of wars, even in this ongoing war, there are rumors everywhere, alleging that it may mark the beginning of the Third World War. That’s just a rumor, it’s not true and it’s no fact.
They have agreed to a ceasefire. Do you see a further outcome of the war?
Concerning the outcome of this war, I envision many things, good and bad, so to say…
First, let me say that Israel has been victorious, and shall achieve all their set goals .
Secondly, I foresee a regime change in Iran, which shall give rise to fragile peace within the region, although it shall be short-lived.
Thirdly, there shall be more foreign investments and infrastructural development that will be largely controlled by the West. This may give room for economic and political prosperity in Iran.
Furthermore, I fear that Iran may have to go through what Iraq and Libya are presently going through —- a fragmented nation that is gasping for survival.
It is important we understand that Israel has always been on the rise and all of many empires and nations. According to the Scriptures, there was a time when the Lord gave the Northern Kingdom of Israel to Assyria because of their sin of idolatry, then after many years, the king of Assyria, Sennacherib decided on his own to move against Judah in the days of King Hezekiah, Judah was then the Southern Kingdom of Israel, and the Lord in His anger defended Judah, and that led to the assassination of Sennacherib by his son, and the fall of his kingdom —- See 2 Kings Chapters 18 and 19 for details.
Now, the Islamic Regime has repeatedly boasted of Annihilating Israel, which is contrary to the Scriptures, I am persuaded that this will lead to the downfall of Iran and its Islamic Regime.
I know this for sure because the Lord had prophetically promised that after Israel’s return to their homeland, they shall no longer be removed, and therefore, annihilation is completely out of the equation.
In Amos 9:14-15, the Lord declares:
“And I will bring again the captivity of my people of Israel, and they shall build the waste cities, and inhabit them; and they shall plant vineyards, and drink the wine thereof; they shall also make gardens, and eat the fruit of them.
And I will plant them upon their land, and they shall no more be pulled up out of their land which I have given them, saith the LORD thy God.”
Israel has come to stay, they shall remain in their land till the Second Coming of Jesus Christ.
While it is true that Israel as a Nation is yet to accept Jesus Christ as their Messiah, which is also the reason they have been paying stiff price for their rebellion and disobedient, and also led to the Roman Invasion and dispersion into other nations in AD 70, yet, one thing stands sure, the God we serve is a Covenant Keeping God, and He remain faithful regardless of our unfaithfulness, in the same vein, Israel’s unfaithfulness will not make our Faithful God to become Unfaithful to His Covenant with Abraham.
The Covenant with Abraham gave Israel the right of ownership to the Land of Israel, spanning from the bank of River Nile to the Bank of River Euphrates.
In Genesis 15:18, the Scripture says:
“In the same day the LORD made a covenant with Abram, saying, Unto thy seed have I given this land, from the river of Egypt unto the great river, the river Euphrates:”
And the land was given for an everlasting possession, the Scripture puts it like this…
Genesis 17:8 says:
“And I will give unto thee, and to thy seed after thee, the land wherein thou art a stranger, all the land of Canaan, for an everlasting possession; and I will be their God.”
Sadly, the portion of land Israel presently occupies is way less than 5% of the Land they are entitled to in the Middle East. Therefore, any attempt to annihilate Israel or drive them out of their land is contrary to the will of God, and it is an exercise in futility, it is a dream that is dead on arrival.
Do you envisage a New Middle East as predicted by Trump?
Yes, I do! But not exactly the way President Trump has predicted. First, I salute the courage of President Trump and his unwavering support for Israel, I have not seen any leader in my lifetime that’s as supportive as he is. He is doing what no other American President would do or attempt to do for Israel. As Mordecai spoke of Esther, Trump is in the Oval Office in due season and for this cause. No wonder, the Lord protected him from the two assassination attempts during his electioneering campaign.
Will there be a new Middle East? Yes!
This present Iranian Regime is like a cancerous growth in the Middle East, their radical Islamic ideology is not only a threat to the Peace and Safety of Israel, but to the whole world, starting from the Middle East.
Iran’s continuous threat and attempt to annihilate Israel was just the beginning of fueling their desire to dominate the entire region and other parts of the world.
Men are quick to forget history, let us go on a brief memory lane, just like Israel and Turkey, Iran is one of the three nations that are not Arabs in the Middle East, and the Iranians are predominantly Persians. So, modern-day Iran is what was formerly known as Assyria and Persia in the Bible, when it was the Assyrian Empire, Nineveh was its capital. I believe many of us are conversant with these names.
But something is interesting here, which I perceive is about to repeat itself. Before the rise of the Islamic Republic of Iran in 1979, Iran and Israel were best friends, they were allies between the 50s and late 70s. Amazingly, Iran was the first nation in the Middle East to accept, and support Israel when they returned to the Promised Land in 1948, thus, the two countries shared military and economic ties for nearly two decades. Then came the Islamic regime, led by Ayatollah Khomeini in 1979 which put an end to the Iranian – Israeli friendship. Ever since there have been chants of death from Iran to Israel. So, at the end of this war, I see that changing, Iran and Israel may once again establish a relationship that will benefit both nations.
Therefore, the ongoing war will likely bring a wave of temporary peace and prosperity to the Middle East for a very short period.
Let’s not forget, that what Israel wants is peace and safety, the same as other nations around the world. Nations can only prosper economically and politically under a peaceful environment.
So, there are going to be regional changes, notwithstanding, it will only be for a short time because there are so many Ayatollahs in the region.
Furthermore, due to embedded religious ideologies and satanic agenda for the last days, the region cannot have lasting peace until after the Rapture of the Church and at the Second Coming of Jesus Christ, when He shall return to establish His Earthly Kingdom and make Jerusalem His Capital.
Remember, no man can give peace to the world, only Jesus can do that. He is the Prince of Peace and the giver of Peace to all men. Hence, the kind of peace we all seek today can only be attained at the Second Coming of Jesus Christ.
