Several missionaries, pastors and a royal father have called on the church to redirect its investment into spreading the word of God and support the production of the locally assembled audio Bible device put together by Christian Missionary Network of Africa.
They made the call at the Presbyterian Church, Yaba Lagos on Friday August 8 during the launch of the device designed to enhance the spread of the gospel.
The Olu of Owode Iyewa, Ogun State Oba Rev Sunday Akindele who gave a key note address at the event described Audio Bible as a great innovation that should be encouraged by the Church.
He said, “This unveiling programme is unprecedented. I have never attended any event like this before. This is a spiritual project that cannot be hindered.”
While noting that the gospel could be preached in diverse ways, he urged his listeners to let their resources work where they cannot speak.
“If Peter could preach and 3000 souls were saved without microphone we can do better.” He said.
He encouraged all to rally round the project and see to its success. “The work is not for one man. Iron sharpens iron. This is a good way of spreading the good news.”
A representative of a leader of the Cherubim and Seraphim Church, David Bobmanuel Orimolade testified about the impact of the audio Bible while also announcing that the Cherubim and Seraphim Church is fully in support of the project.
He said, “what you hear works faster than what you read. The audio device has created a lot of impact in the church.”
He seized the opportunity to announce the 100th years anniversary of the Church while stating that it is the word of God that has sustained it till now. We want to see how we can introduce this device to all our church”

God is a collaborator
Also speaking at the event, the convener of Global Mandate Conference and founder of Agape Generation International Church, Rev Toyin kehinde said the church cannot move forward without collaboration.
He said, “Collaboration is the nature of God. The world was created through collaboration when God said let us create man in our image.”
He emphasised that since the church is one body “different parts of the body have to work for the body to move.
“When Jesus gave the Great Commission he gave it in the context of the church not denomination. That is why we have to work together, taking the audio bible to the world. I want to encourage all our leaders here to let us support this work.”
The unveiling
Evangelist Steve Pelemo who directed the unveiling of the audio device praised the effort of evangelist Edwin Ebeniro the visioner of the Christian Missionary Network of Africa.
He described the Audio Bible initiative as a great move that will make the gospel get to the grassroots.
He said, “faith does not come by reading, it comes by hearing. The word of God is powerful. When you listen to it, it’s not just story. It has the power to prepare the heart for salvation. No man of God is anointed outside the word.”
He shares a personal testimony of constantly listening to the Audio Bible. He recalled how the holy spirit instructed him to play Bible in cassette to address a situation around him. He shared several other testimonies to show that there is power in the word.”
The event was attended by representatives of Faith Comes By Hearing, Pentecostal Fellowship of Nigeria and the Christian Association of Nigeria. They all pledged their commitment to the project and promised to support with their resources.
