John Abiola traced the violence and corruption in Nigeria to 1953. He notes that by 2023, Nigeria will be 70 years in captivity of corruption and violence. He compares this with the 70-year captivity prophesied by Jeremiah for the children of Israel which Daniel brought to an end through his intercessory prayers. Abiola believes a new dawn is around the corner for Nigeria
Brethren,
Join the ongoing intercession for Nigeria. it’s a prayer chain to unite about 100,000,000 people. Say the prayers and pass them on to others.
Daniel’s repentance and revival prayer example
Daniel was a repentant, selfless and righteous intercessor who understood the book of prophecy. He understood the cause of his people’s captivity written by prophet Jeremiah. And genuinely repented of his personal sins, his leaders and Israel’s sins.
He interceded and fasted for mercy, forgiveness and restoration of Israel before the end of the 70 years of captivity in Babylon as a result of their sins, evils and Idolatry.
Daniel laboured in intercession until the secret of God was revealed to him. Satan was subdued, the ruling princes, principalities of Persia and Greece over Israel was defeated in the spiritual realm by Arch Angel Michael.
He continued in repentance, interceded for his nation until God averted judgement. The mighty king of Babylon and kings of other nations in Daniel’s generation bowed and worshipped the God of Daniel
” Then Nebuchadnezzar the king was astonished and rose up in haste, and spake, and said unto his counsellors, Did not we cast three men bound into the midst of the fire? They answered and said unto the King, True, O King.
“He answered and said, Lo, I see four men lose, walking in the midst of the fire, and they have no hurt; and the form of the fourth is like the son of God
“Therefore I make a decree, Every people, nation, and language that speaks anything amiss, against the God of Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego, shall be cut in pieces, and their houses shall be made a dunghill: because there is no other God that can deliver after this sort.” ( Daniel 3: 24,25,29,).
Despite being a very busy ruler in Babylon, Daniel prayed three times daily. His selflessness, consistence, persistence, repentance and intercession made God avert judgement, and bring mighty revival, deliverance and restoration to the whole nation of Israel.
“In the first year of his reign I Daniel understood by books the number of the years, whereof the word of the Lord came to Jeremiah the prophet, that he would accomplish seventy years in the desolations of Jerusalem. And I set my face unto the Lord God, to seek by prayer and supplications, with fasting, and sackcloth, and ashes.
“And I prayed into the Lord my God, and made my confession, and said, O Lord, the great and dreadful God, keeping the covenant and mercy to them that love him, and to those that keep his commandments.
“We have sinned, and have committed iniquity, and have done wickedly, and have rebelled, and even departing from thy precepts and from thy judgements.
“Neither have we hearkened unto thy servants the prophets, which spake in thy name to our Kings, our princes, and our fathers, and to all the people of the land.
“O Lord, righteousness belongeth unto thee, but unto us confusion of faces, as at this day; to the men of Judah, and to the inhabitants of Jerusalem, and unto all Israel, that are near, and that are far off, through all the countries whither thou hast driven them, because of their trespass that they have trespassed against thee.
“O Lord, to us belongeth confusion of face, to our Kings, to our princes, and to our fathers, because we have sinned against thee. To the Lord our God belong mercies and forgiveness, and though we have rebelled against him. Neither have we obeyed the voice of the Lord our God, to walk in his laws, which he set before us by his servants the prophets.
“Yea, all Israel have transgressed thy law, even by departing, that they might not obey thy voice; therefore the curse is poured upon us, and the oath that is written in the law of Moses the servant of God, because we have sinned against him.
“And he hath confirmed his words, which he spake against us, and against our judges that judged us, by bringing upon us a great evil: for under the whole heaven hath not been done as hath been done upon Jerusalem.
“As it is written in the law of Moses, all this evil comes upon us: yet made we not our prayer before the Lord our God, that we might turn from our iniquities, and understand thy truth. Therefore hath the Lord watched upon the evil and brought it upon us: for the Lord our God is righteous in all his works which he doeth: for we obeyed not his voice. O Lord, according to all thy righteousness, I beseech thee, let thine anger and thy fury be turned away from thy city Jerusalem, thy holy mountain: because for our sins, and for the iniquities of our fathers, Jerusalem and thy people have become a reproach to all that are about us.
“Now, therefore, O our God, hear the prayer of thy servant, and his supplications, and cause thy face to shine upon thy sanctuary that is desolate, for the Lord’s sake. O my God, incline Thine ear, and hear; open thine eyes, and behold our desolations, and the city which is called by thy name: for we do not present our supplications before thee for our righteousness, but for thy great mercies.
“Lord, hear; O Lord, forgive; O Lord, hearken and do; defer not, for thine own sake, O my God: for thy city and thy people are called by thy name.
“And whiles I was speaking, and praying, and confessing my sin and the sin of my people Israel, and presenting my supplication before the Lord my God for the holy mountain of my God.
“Yea, while I was speaking in prayer, even the man Gabriel whom I had seen in the vision at the beginning, being caused to fly swiftly touched me about the time of the evening oblation. (Daniel 9:2-,21)
Nigeria and Israel: Basic Similarities.
If we look into the political terrain of Nigeria since 1953 before Nigeria was conceptualized as a nation, evidently, it has been astonishingly marked with violence, corruption, killings and diverse evils.
Starting first on Friday 1st, May 1953 at Kano, riots broke out which was significantly a clash between Northerners and Southerners. This was due to fact that the Northerners opposed Nigeria’s independence by the Southerners in the house of parliament in Lagos.
The riots, therefore, resulted in the loss of many lives. Subsequently, this has been the case during elections. The blood of the innocent that was shed on May 1 1953 marked the beginning of reckless shedding of blood which has laid the foundation of political, economic and religious war in Nigeria.
This is the genesis of God’s judgement, captivity and religious war going on in Nigeria today. It is the foundation of the myriads of problems of Nigerians and Nigeria.
This foundational sin sold Nigeria into the principalities and powers of darkness and evil spirits that govern the Nation and as such changed the good policies of the leadership.
Psalms 11:3, “if the foundations are destroyed what can the righteous do”? The Lord Jesus Christ came to provide a solution according to 1John 8-9.
The righteous can repent, ask for forgiveness, mercy and turn from their evil ways and this will move God to avert his judgement, dislodge the ruling principalities and set captives free for a new beginning.
By 2023 Nigeria will be precisely 70 years in captivity. This is precisely 70 years of captivity, shedding of innocent blood, corruption, violence, war, killings, injustice, and other evil vices that have plaque the Nation.
At the corner is another election that will determine the destiny of this nation.
CHRISTIANS MUST THEREFORE RISE UP TO THE OCCASION AND REPENT OF OUR INDIVIDUAL AND NATIONAL SIN.

There is hope for Nigeria if we genuinely repent of our personal and national sin:
1986 prophecy by Pa S.G Elton:
Nigeria and Nigerians will be known all over the world for corruption. Your name- Nigeria will sink for corruption but after a while, a new phase will come – a phase of righteousness- people from nations of the world will hold unto a Nigerian and say, “we would follow you to your nation, to go learn righteousness…
Pa S.G Elton talked about a coming revival, which will come to Nigeria after the period of apostasy. He said Nigeria is significant in the programme of God for end-time, she is the trigger point of Africa through which the arrows of the new Revival would be shot into the rest of the world.
God’s prophetic destiny for Nigeria and the Church by John Abiola:
I have a covenant with the nation of Nigeria to evangelize the world before the rapture (August 6, 2014.)
I will soon begin to purge the Nigerian Church so that I can use her to evangelize the world, and in readiness for my soon coming. (December 3rd,2014).
Brethren,
The hour has struck! It’s a crucial day. It is expedient that we pray like Daniel and turn from our sins, idols, abominations, wicked ways, worthlessness, idolatrous worship and return to God and to the altar for mighty work of intercession.
Is there not one among us who can take hold of God at His word like Daniel did and genuinely repent of his personal and national sins. Pray for repentance, mercy, forgiveness to avert judgement, and for deliverance and visitation of the Holy Spirit in our sleeping churches. Pray for the salvation of millions of lost souls and the transformation of our nation Nigeria?
You are of the godly remains and one of the minority Intercessors God urgently needs now. Take your position in God’s work. Your sacrificial intercessions will be rewarded. Amen!

(John 3:18); ” I said therefore unto you, that ye shall die in your sins: for if ye believe not that I am he, ye shall die in your sins” (John 8:24); and ” Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is no other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved”. (Acts 4:12).
