Edo Gov Okpebholo: How I was healed of protracted sickness after encounter with Bishop David Abioye

by Church Times

The Governor of Edo State Mr. Monday Okpebholo has recounted how he was healed of a long standing sickness after an encounter with Bishop David Abioye several years ago.

He gave the account while addressing the congregation of the Living Word Conquerors Global Assembly pastored by Bishop Abioye on Saturday July 25 during a programme tagged night of peace.

Okpebolo who recently was dragged by netizens for his belligerent posture following the visit of Mr Peter Obi to Edo State said what took him to Bishop Abioye was his failing health..

He said, “In 2007 I was very sick. I had tried every means to get healing no solution. So I came to the Bishop. Someone gave me a note to meet him.

“I was in front of the office. Bishop came out and said in the presence of a lot of people, we were about 30. And he said, may the Lord heal you with testimonies in your mouth. That was the end of the sickness’

Okpebholo said after that experience some people came to meet him urging him to contest for the Senate. He toyed with the idea but said in his heart that he would not “share it with mummy (wife of Bishop Abioye) because she was always telling me don’t go into politics.”

He said however that he was still bothered about the thought of contesting that he decided to share it with Bishop Abioye while also praying that he would not be directed to his wife..

When he got to Abioye, he was asked to kneel down. He recalled, “Bishop said, you want to contest? He then said from primary 1 to primary 2 peace. That was it. That is the same peace of tonight”

He said further that those who were at the event would become channels of peace because they have gotten an impartation and “it will go a long way.”

After sharing his testimony Bishop Abioye stepped on the rostrum and asked the congregation to pray for him. He then prayed for him asking that God would give him favour and wisdom to rule Edo State.
