Year 2026: Pastor Adeboye assures it will be more remarkable, says, ‘God recognises days not years’

by Church Times

The General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG), Pastor Enoch Adeboye, has assured Nigerians that 2026 will be more remarkable than the previous year.

He gave this assurance while delivering his crossover sermon on December 31, 2025, to usher in the new year.

Adeboye, who maintains a tradition of sharing annual prophecies, stated: “The year 2026 will be more remarkable than 2025.” He added, however, that “the wind that has been blowing since 2024 will continue to blow more strongly than ever before.”

Breakthroughs and Economic Outlook

According to the General Overseer, 2026 will bring a wealth of new opportunities. “There will be more breakthroughs, more successes, and more victories. Many testimonies this year will begin with, ‘God remembered me at last,’” he said.

Addressing the economic situation, Adeboye predicted a reduction in hunger across the land. He noted that many small and medium-scale enterprises (SMEs) are expected to blossom in the coming months. He also hinted at a significant trend of “Japada”—a term referring to Nigerians returning home from the diaspora.

National and International Prophecies

While Adeboye mentioned that he has a second part of the prophecy specifically for Nigeria, he stated he would not disclose it until he receives a divine leading to do so. On the international scene, he warned of an increase in natural disasters, specifically citing a “couple of hurricanes and tornadoes.”

A Divine Perspective on Time

Earlier in his message, the RCCG leader explained that God views time differently than humans do. “God does not deal with years; rather, He deals with days. We are the ones who introduced years,” he explained.

Citing Hebrews 13:8, he reminded the congregation that Jesus is the same yesterday, today, and forever, urging them to “number our days that we may apply our hearts to wisdom.”

Notably, Adeboye did not halt his message at midnight for the traditional “Happy New Year” celebration. He explained that because time zones differ, nations like Japan were already well into the new year while he was speaking. The global New Year wave began in Kiribati in the Pacific region, moving through East Asia before reaching Nigeria.
