Online media has come to stay

Otufodunrin spoke on the topic .Creating Digital Economy: Education/Marketing,

He took time to unravel the intricacies and workings of the online media to the reporters while also stressing that the reality on ground is that the online media has come to stay for a very long time

He said rather than castigate or abuse it, journalists should seek a way of using it positively to enhance social and economic wellbeing

He warned against using one’s phone for immoral engagements online..’Some people use their phones to gossip, watch home and foreign movies, download sex films and pictures as well as latest fashions, lipsticks, shoes and other female fantasies. People who do such are not getting it right. ‘ he said

According to him there are many online businesses that people can be involved in that will help boost their economy…’there are a lot of media work that can be monetized .

“There are lots of sites people can write for and earn dollars. You can also set up your own site and make money from it..but you must be ready for the hard work’ he said.

While noting that the social media. is used for the good, the bad and the ugly he said, ‘As Catholic correspondent it is expected that messages sent out through the social.media should be those that are Christlike and of good quality.

His said further: those who use the social media for criminalities have thier days numbered, while those who burn their data to watch films, download all sorts of immoral contents and gossips are only paying the actors and actresses, as well as wasting their data on irrelevant liabilities.

He noted that the internet is a meeting place of both good and evil. ‘it depends on what you’re looking for. The internet will get it across to you. It’s the seat of good and evil. But as Christians we can take advantage of the good to promote social and spiritual wellbeing. We can also use it to enhance our economy’ he said.
