The GP Ministries aka Gospel Pentecostal Church based in the United Kingdom has carried out a two-day Sharing and Caring Community Wellbeing and Mental Health Event
The programme took place between Saturday April 12 and Sunday April 13, 2025 at Luton Borough . It witnessed impressive turnout..
The Lead Pastor, GP Ministries Lawrence Fagbayi, said the ministry had always strived to make a tangible difference in any borough where it is established
‘We work towards initiatives that would empower the students, young people, parents and the elderly to mention few” said Fagbayi.

Past impact
In the past, the church had embarked on empowerment programmes which have attracted different recognitions and awards including Luton Best Awards in 2014.
Fagbayi said, ‘Having played some parts in the Luton 2020 vision, and conscious of the new 2020 –2040 vision. The ministry applied for a small participatory grant to deliver 3 events that would empower the people and promote the vision within a year and was successful”
Pastor Fagbayi outlined the main 5 Luton 2040 vision viz:
Improving population wellbeing and tackling health inequalities to enable everyone to have a good quality of life and reach their full potential.
He explained that supporting a strong and empowered community is built on fairness, local pride and a powerful voice for all our residents.
The GP Ministries partnered with the local government, local police, and other 2 charitable organisations to deliver Sharing & caring.
Activities at the event
During the 2 -day event, meaningful presentation and discussions were organised to address wellbeing, health inequalities, and the responsibilities of individuals and the local government to enable everyone to have good quality of life and reach their full potential.
Fagbayi said, :We invited the people, opened the Church up, created an enabling environment, provided foods, entertainments.
‘Professionals attended to the wellbeing and mental health of participants, engaged them in questions and answers sessions, networking, photographs, thereby bringing down barriers or stigma and helping to build a more informed cohesive and empowered community.
Those who attended the event described it as engaging, educative, successful. They said they are looking forward to The GP Ministries organising such impacting community event in the near future.
There are approximately 317 local authorities in England out which the Luton Borough is one.
Some of these local authorities have got borough-wide or town-wide developmental visions.
Through these developmental programme they promote and encourage residents, companies, charitable organisations including the Churches etc. to actively support in different ways they can.
