The three-day National Convention of The Apostolic Church Nigeria (TACN) began on Friday on a note of hope as participants raised their voices to God calling on him to restore Nigeria’s lost glory.
The convention holding at the International Convention grounds Olorunda-Ketu, Lagos attracted thousands of delegates from all over the country.
The Ilesa Area Superintendent of the Church, Pastor Isaac Gbadebo Fakunle who gave a powerful ministration at the opening service assured that the Lord will restore Nigeria to its glorious past and make way for it despite all the challenges that are besetting it.
While stressing on the theme of the convention “I WILL HEAL YOUR LAND” Pastor Fakunle said God has proved himself to be a healer and He has the capacity and readiness to heal the country even in the situation of a pandemic in the world.
He added that it is the goal of God that there shall be showers of blessing in Nigeria.
“Criminal herdsmen or no herdsmen Nigeria shall be blessed because God is still in the business of healing of the world”, the cleric said.
Quoting the scripture, Jeremiah 33: 10-11, he said, the people shall begin to hear voices testifying to the restoration works of God.
Such voices of God, according to him, shall include that of joy, and of gladness, and of the bridegroom, and of the bride, and of those who will say praise the Lord of hosts for he is good and His mercy endures forever.
In his own remarks after the sermon, The Church National President Pastor Sampson Ekwutosi Igwe pointed out that before the Lord will heal the land, He would first heal our souls.
“Our nation is sick, and when the nation is sick everyone is sick. As God has told us, we are here to pray unto God because our nation is sick.
He was confident that God would hear the prayer of the people over the nation as they were gathered at the temple “dedicated and sanctified” by the Lord.
Pastor Igwe pointed out that the Lord had promised that even if there was a warlike pandemic, He would look down from heaven and heal the land whenever He is called upon.
The opening service witnessed a session of intercessory prayers for forgiveness, deliverance, and healing of Nigeria and her people.
The Igbo land territorial Chairman Pastor P. C. Ahia led the prayers quoting the scripture, that by calling on the Lord, he would by His mercy heal the land.
