…wife raises 26 thanksgiving points
Ukraine based Nigerian Pastor of Embassy of the Blessed Kingdom of God for All Nations in the Ukrainian capital of Kiev, Sunday Adelaja has described his 26th wedding anniversary with his wife, Bose as a memorable one, even as both of them travelled out of Ukraine to Ephesus to celebrate.
Adelaja has been facing a lot of lawsuits in Ukraine which made it practically impossible for him to travel out of Ukraine for many years. Last year he was given the opportunity to travel for the first time after 11 years of being locked down in Ukraine because of the lawsuits. Then, he and his wife went to Brazil and spent some time.
But in a Facebook post on August 13, Adelaja expressed joy for being able to travel “for the first time this year on our 26th wedding anniversary to see one of the wonders of the ancient world the ancient city of Ephesus”
About Ephesus
Ephesus which is cited in the book of Revelation as one hosting one of the seven churches of Asia according to an online finding “was an ancient port city whose well-preserved ruins are in modern-day Turkey.
“The city was once considered the most important Greek city and the most important trading centre in the Mediterranean region. Throughout history, Ephesus survived multiple attacks and changed hands many times between conquerors. It was also a hotbed of early Christian evangelism and remains an important archaeological site and Christian pilgrimage destination.”
It is located near the western shores of modern-day Turkey, where the Aegean Sea meets the former estuary of the River Kaystros, about 80 kilometres south of Izmir, Turkey.
Ephesus is strategic to the growth of the Christian faith. Paul and John the apostle visited the place and rebuked the cults of Artemis in Ephesus, winning many in the process. Mary, the mother of Jesus, according to findings also spent her last years in Ephesus with Saint John. Her house and John’s tomb can be visited there today.
The book of Ephesians, which was the letter of Paul was said to have been written to the people of Ephesus in 60 AD. Chapter 19 in the Book of Acts tells of a riot started by a man named Demetrius. Demetrius made silver coins featuring the likeness of Artemis.
Writing on his Facebook wall, Adelaja said, “This is a part of the panorama of the sight where my Princess and I are spending our week. This is especially memorable for us since I’d not been able to travel with the family for the past 12 years of my lawsuit in Ukraine.
“Ephesus is a good experience, reliving the pathways of our prominent Apostle of faith, Apostle Paul. Enjoy the sights with us. Blessings”
His wife, Bose on her Facebook wall raised 26 thanksgiving points to appreciate God for her husband.
