Overseer of the Middle East continent of Redeemed Christian Church of God, Pastor Johnson Odesola was among the cast of a movie titled the Jailer by Mount Zion
The movie which also starred Pastor Bisi Akande another top RCCG pastor was produced by Mount Zion Ministry in collaboration with Faithlift Production.
The story of the movie was conceived by Pastor Odesola while Damilola Mike-Bamiloye directed it.
The 1 Hour 55 Minutes movie explored the theme of forgiveness. It is about a lady who lost her father(Pastor Odesola acted the role of a father called Makinde Williams) in an armed robbery incident when she was young. Years later, she sought revenge when she found out a suspected killer of her father who was at the murder scene. Unknown to her, the alleged killer did not pull the trigger that killed her father.
Rather, he was only an accomplice who drove the killers to the scene of the robbery for personal gain. Years after that incident, the alleged murderer known as Adegbola had become a Christian and was leading a vibrant children’s ministry.
But these were lost to the lady by the name Temilolu Williams. Attempts to make her change her mind from prosecuting Adegbola did not yield any fruit until she was misdiagnosed for cancer of the breast.
It was Adegbola who by now was in detention waiting for prosecution; that gave her a prophetic word that the doctor’s diagnosis of cancer was not hers. This turned out to be true.
That endeared her to Adegbola and made her try to withdraw the case. The lawyer objected. She then asked to be allowed to appear in the witness box and told the court she accused the wrong man of murder. The judge; delivering judgment set the man known as Adegbola in the movie free.
The lines of the movie were breathtaking with the underlining gospel message of love and forgiveness. The delivery by the cast was quite enchanting drawing spectators to tears.
