The Bible Society of Nigeria (BSN) has designated May 5 as the National Bible Day to be celebrated with the Christian community
The society in a statement signed by it’s spokesman, Mr..Ben Mordi said the day, which has been set aside to celebrate the gift of the Bible, is to enable Nigerians reflect on, share, and imbibe the values prescribed by the Holy Bible.
Quoting the General Secretary/CEO of The Bible Society of Nigeria, Pastor Samuel Sanusi, he stated, “National Bible Day is a wonderful occasion to reaffirm our commitment to biblical values and to encourage everyone to experience the life-changing power of the Word of God.”
Pastor Sanusi was quoted as saying, :since the global community could celebrate Workers’ Day, Independence Day, Water Day, Literacy Day, and other days, set aside to be remembered, it will be ideal to also use a day to celebrate the Bible, a gift from God to humanity and pray for the peace, prosperity, and well-being of the nation.’
Mordi urged everyone to participate in the National Bible Day celebration on May 5, 2025, through studying, meditating, reflecting on and living by the standards of the Word of God.
