The founder of Lord’s Chosen Charismatic Revival Movement, Pastor Lazarus Muoka has responded to the barrage of criticisms that have trailed the church in the last few weeks while also urging members of the movement not to speak evil of anybody.
The church has been criticised lately on social media after a doctored clip of the testimony of one of its members went viral.
In the video, the member narrated how she was attacked in a dream and how she got victory despite being attacked with heavy ammunition.
She woke up from the dream and a long-standing pain in her leg disappeared. However, a doctored version of the video surfaced on social media, giving the impression that the woman was narrating a real-life situation.
Several other videos of members sharing incredible testimonies also got the attention of netizens. The church has since become a butt of jokes with many skits appearing online where social media users poke fun at the miracle claims of members.
But Pastor Mouka believes critics of the church are doing God’s work. He said he had once asked the youths of the church to propagate the great things God is doing in the church on the internet. But since they had refused to do anything, God decided to use the route of the viral testimony to do his work.
He told his members in a programme monitored by Church Times on the internet that none of them should speak evil of anybody. “Don’t speak evil of anybody.” He warned.
Referring to critics of the church he said, “Pray for those people. They are doing our work. Imagine how much we would have spent to do publicity. Let them do it the more.”
People will get to know us
He reasoned that the unsolicited “publicity” would make people know the church more.
“Many people will get to know us and see what we are doing. So, let the publicity continue. And keep on praying that they may be saved. This is the finger of God. This is what God is doing for us free of charge. We owe him thanks and praises,” Muoka said.
He stressed, “Now listen to me, wherever you are, God is doing the publicity and we must give him the glory. God showed me this is going to happen. Let us celebrate it. If we have time we would have worshiped God so much.”
Muoka further emphasized the heritage of members of the church telling them, “Chosen People, indeed we are chosen and God is doing it for us.”
He said with excitement, “I told you to blast the internet. I told you about the youth programme. But since you cannot do it, God started it. Everywhere is chosen, chosen, chosen”
The current criticism of the church, according to him, was orchestrated by God to create awareness of his move among his people.
“Whenever God wants to move, he will create awareness. I am telling you this God is wonderful. I am so grateful that what we have been looking for, God gave it to us on a platter of gold.”
He urged critics of the church to be patient while assuring, “they will know we are serving a living God.”
