Newly appointed Chairman of the Redeemed Christian Church of God in the United Kingdom, Pastor Leke Sanusi has said he never worked with the late Mr. Aka Basorun, a one-time chairman of the Nigeria Bar Association as earlier reported.

Church Times had reported that he worked with the late Basorun in a story announcing his appointment as the Chairman of the RCCG UK.

Pastor Sanusi who spoke with our correspondent from the UK after reading the report said he worked with the late Chief Gani Fawehinmi and then went on to start his own chambers after leaving Chief Fawehinmi.

A one-time student activist, Sanusi said many people still can’t connect his past with his present recalling also that he was special assistant to Dr. Olu Onagoruwa, the late Constitutional lawyer when he was minister for Justice in the regime of the late General Sani Abacha.

Many people who spoke with our correspondent about Pastor Sanusi said his appointment as RCCG UK chairman was a well-deserved one.

His predecessor, Pastor Agu Irukwu had also described him in glowing terms assuring that the RCCG Church in the UK will do well under his chairmanship

Leke Sanusi: His profile

Pastor Leke Sanusi, a Barrister, and Solicitor, successfully practised law for over ten years before answering the call to pastoral ministry in 1997.

Following his Call to the Nigerian Bar and National Youth Service, he worked at the famous Gani Fawehinmi Chambers for many years before moving on to become a Principal Partner at Sanusi, Akinrimisi & Co Law Firm which he co-founded.

In 1994, he was appointed Special Assistant to the Attorney General and Minister of Justice of the Federation, Dr. Olu Onagoruwa SAN.

Pastor Leke’s conversion story is likened to that of the biblical Apostle Paul in many ways.

As a Pastor, he is passionate about seeing people set free from all manners of oppression and affliction of life. He is a contagious prayer warrior; speaking to thousands of audiences around the world; God, confirming his words with signs and wonders following.

Pastor Leke pastors the Redeemed Christian Church of God, Victory House in London, UK, which has birthed over twenty churches under his pastorate.

Until his latest appointment, he was the Assistant Continental Overseer: (ACO) UK, Ireland & Europe Mainland Regions and oversees 18 nations under RCCG Europe Mainland Region 2, which includes the nation of Israel.

The General Overseer of RCCG, worldwide, Pastor EA Adeboye has now appointed Pastor Leke Sanusi as the Chairman and Head of Mission of RCCG, United Kingdom.

The position was formerly held by Pastor Agu Irukwu. The RCCG mission in the U.K. has over 800 churches or parishes. He also heads The Board of Trustees and Executive Council of the mission in the U.K. while he continues to oversee churches in countries in Europe Mainland as well as the nation of Israel.

Pastor Leke serves on the Directorates and Boards of many organisations. He is also the President of Oraword Publishers Ltd.

A prolific writer, Pastor Leke has authored many books including the Command series: Command Your Morning; Command Your Star; Command Your Fruitfulness; Command Your Enlargement; Command Your Deliverance; Command Your Tomorrow; Command Your Miracles; Command Your Doors; Command Your Ninth Hour Miracles; Commanding Peace in Your Storm and the Commanding the Year series., the latest of which is Commanding 2021.

Leke Sanusi is married to his beloved wife, Pastor Bola and they are blessed with two miracle sons: Tobi and Tomisin. They reside in Kent, England.
