Nigeria’s Chief of Defence Staff, General Christopher Musa has said jihadists are bent on taking over the sahel region and West Africa while also assuring that they will fail.
He spoke on Sunday May 18 at the newly founded Church of Bishop David Abioye known as Conquerors Global Assembly. The service was monitored online by Church Times .
The General was in company of his wife as he addressed the congregation sharing testimonies of how Bishop Abioye has impacted him.
He also took a swipe at Christians in top positions who shy away from their faith.
While disclosing that he had known Bishop Abioye a long time ago, ever before meeting him, he decried the attitude of believers in top positions who find it difficult to proclaim their faith.
Musa said, ‘Never shy away to show you are a Christian wherever you are. I have seen people when they get to higher places they stay away from God. Remember Jesus said if you deny me before men, I will deny you before my father and your name will not be in the book.’
The army general who said he was born and grew up a Christian in Sokoto testified to the power of God saying, ‘We serve a living God that will never let us down.’

Jihadists
He then pleaded with his listeners to show love to one another while also loving Nigeria. ‘We are going through challenges as a nation. It is not only Nigeria. I want to assure you that God loves this country and will never let us down.’
While noting that West Africa and the entire sahel region is facing a lot of challenges orchestrated by jihadist he said, ‘They are hell bent on taking over. God will not allow them to succeed. But we need prayers. As Christians we need to pray consistently and ceaselessly to ensure that this country remains one. This is a blessed country .’
He said some people are not happy that Nigeria is still one. ‘If you remember there was this prediction by the West that Nigeria will be no more by year 2015. They say Nigeria will pack up. This is 2025. Nigeria is still standing. And we will continue to prevail.’ He assured.
Musa expressed great appreciation to the duo of Bishop Abioye and his wife. He assured the congregation that those in charge of security are doing everything possible to secure Nigeria..
He added however that the prayer of the saints is critical if they are to have victory against insurgents.
Bishop Abioye
Earlier in his speech, he recalled how Bishop Abioye used to call him when he was a theatre commander in Maiduguri fighting Boko Haram.
‘Bishop Abioye kept calling me. I kept wondering how he got my number. But he didn’t relent. His prayers has made the difference.
‘ That is to tell you that we serve a living God who will never let us down. Sometimes we are the ones making things impossible because we doubt ourselves and we doubt God.’ He said.

Jihadists and Insurgents are just the creation of our Political Elites in collusion with Europe and America to create a decoy and divert attention away from the fleecing of Nigeria’s mineral resources.
This will not end until Africa unites to terminate Neocolonialism and end all existing Colonial Pacts.
