Ukraine based Nigerian Pastor, Sunday Adelaja has recounted a vision-like encounter with Jesus during which he was brought to Africa in the spirit realm to see the state of the church.
Adelaja in a recent YouTube broadcast said he had embarked on a 14-day waiting on God in prayers when Jesus appeared to him on the last day of the waiting.
He said Jesus made him understand in the course of the encounter that the next phase of his ministry would be in Africa adding also that God told him all the time he spent in Europe was a time for training for him.
He said before the encounter he had with Jesus he had always thought he was a successful preacher.
“Before then I was already successful in Europe. We had churches in 50 countries. But then that encounter changed my perspective.”
He said in the vision, Jesus showed him a list of 25 things he would do in Africa.
Giving a rundown of the vision, he said “Jesus took me in the spirit to Nigeria. We landed in a warehouse. It was like a church but not a particular church. It was like the body of Christ in Nigeria.
“In that building, I saw people working. One light will be on another will be off. The roof was open and water was dropping. But everybody was looking sharp. I saw all the bishops and everybody was thinking all things were perfect. I saw the leaking roof and the broken parts of the building but nobody noticed.”
He said further that “Jesus explained to me all those issues that are supposed to be addressed. He was taking me to different rooms in that building and showing me things.
“When we were about to go, one of the popular pastors in Nigeria came to me and said to me, “I heard that you are here”. He said, he just decided to come and join us. He started showing interest in what Jesus had revealed to me in the vision and asked that I should explain these things to him.
“The pastor was listening and taking in these things. I knew he had great power to go and fix all the things that are wrong in the church. God told me the pastor is a symbol of all the existing fathers of faith and that some of them will hear the message and do the will of God.”
Adelaja said “God allowed me to go through sorrow, false accusation, God shut everything down so I could hear him. I was going to be too busy. I was not going to give it a chance to go back to Africa. But that vision changed my perspective. He told me all my achievements in Europe is just a school. It’s like Joseph in Egypt. He told me all the things I had achieved in Europe is preparation. He said my ministry will only start when I go back to Africa.”
He said sometimes we don’t understand the tragedies and the evil against us but that God uses all these experiences to prepare us for a greater task.”
He said the Lord told him that by the time he would be through with Nigeria, Nigeria will become the number one country in the world, not only economically, but it will be the number one Christian country in the world.
“That is why I needed to go through persecution and prosecution. He said to me to go back and fix those things that are bad. I always thought there was no more church in Nigeria. But what Jesus told me is that there is a church and things can still be fixed. God still has a plan for Nigeria.
“God wants to entrust the future of Christianity to the black race. For that to happen, God will not allow the church in Nigeria to go wrong. God wants to stop that regression. God wants the Nigerian church to be the flag bearer for the church in the latter days.”
