A security expert Rev. Ladi Thompson has warned that Nigeria may face deadlier attacks in the next few months.
Thompson gave the position on the premise that the Islamic State for West Africa Province is behind the death of Abubakar Shekau
Thompson in a recent video shared severally said also that the days ahead are precarious.
According to him, the military may not be able to contain the crisis ahead.
He said with some air of certainty that three things will happen in the next three months.
The first is “that all the weapons and ammunition of the Nigerian Air force and the Nigerian army including plane will be destroyed by ISWAP.”
Incidentally, hours after he gave the warning, a military plane with about 11 officers including the Chief of Army Staff crashed.
He said ISWAP has a combined force that is deadlier than Boko Haram and Fulani herdsmen. He also added ISWAP has ammunition that are far more sophisticated than what the Nigerian military has.
He said the group which according to him are more in number compared to the Nigeria Armed Force will take over Abuja urging Nigerians to be on their guard.
Thompson who spoke in the Yoruba language in the video said the third thing that will happen is that the Nigerian government may hire mercenaries.
These mercenaries according to him may turn out to be those who are sympathetic to ISWAP.
He urged the government to be wary of the kind of mercenaries that are engaged to fight the group.
The cleric then expressed fear that government may not be able to handle what is coming will calling on Nigerians to prayerful.
It will be recalled that Rev Thompson predicted the coming of Boko Haram long before the group became known in Nigeria.
Apart from being versed on security issues, Rev Thompson is the General Overseer of Living Waters Unlimited.
