Intensify your fight against terrorists, group urges FG

The Christian Conscience Group, a non-denominational organisation, has called on the President Bola Tinubu-led government to intensify its fight against terrorists and criminal elements terrorising many parts of the country.

It also called on Nigerians to share information on terrorists that can help in the fight against them.

Christian Conscience made the call shortly after its meeting in Lagos on Tuesday March 31 while reacting to the recent mass killings of innocent citizens in Jos, the Plateau State capital.

In a statement made available by its National Publicity Secretary, Mr..Tunji Oguntiase the group noted that the persistent killings in Jos and other parts of the country point to a lack of synergy within the nation’s security and intelligence architecture.

“These terrorists, regardless of what they are called, are human beings. Yet, intelligence officers are present in all local government areas across the country

“We must identify their kingpins and sponsors, disrupt their supply chains, and cut off their sources of funding if the efforts of our gallant security and intelligence personnel are to yield meaningful results.” the group stated

The group’s statement was signed by Dr Mrs Yetunde Akinluyi (Chairman) and Revd Dr Kolawole Verrals (National Secretary).

Christian Conscience also expressed concern over the brazen attack on a government health facility in Akure, Ondo State, where health workers were abducted and later released in the bush.

It described the incident as unacceptable and urged the government to take decisive action. “Enough is enough,” the group emphasised.

Beyond security issues, the group felicitated Christians across the nation on the occasion of Easter and encouraged them to continue praying for peace and unity in the country.

It urged Christians, especially after the Lenten season, to reflect the teachings of Jesus Christ by showing love and compassion towards one another
