The founder of the Living Faith Church Worldwide also known as Winners Chapel, Bishop David Oyedepo made a dramatic appearance on Saturday August 29 at the Global Crusade with Kumuyi presently holding at Ota, Ogun State.
The crusade which began on August 28 is expected to come to an end on Sunday, August 30.
Bishop Oyedepo addressed the gathering for about 20 minutes during the event confessing that it was important for him to visit the grounds of the crusade as a mark of honor to Pastor Kumuyi.
He was in a warm embrace with Pastor Kumuyi as the congregation roared in praise.
Oyedepo said, “I count it a great privilege to be here today to witness this event. I was part of the revival of the 1970s. That was when the revival of Bible study took place.”
Referring to Pastor Kumuyi he said, “Today I am amazed at the unction and impact all through the years. This leading voice has affected so many people around the globe. I read a tract in the 70s titled ‘Hell Is Real.’ It was so impactful”
He then shared with the congregation the message, “How shall we escape if we neglect such a great salvation?”
Bishop Oyedepo said the church has to keep calling itself back to what it means to be saved.
His words: “Salvation is not an ideology. It is an experience. May tonight be your salvation. We are told in Scripture to examine ourselves if we are in faith. You cannot have Christ and not know. Salvation is a tangible experience. It is not a theory. It is not make-believe.”
Sharing his own experience, he said, “I got saved at 15. The ultimate goal of one’s experience in Christ is heaven. If you are saved you have the fruit of the Spirit, which is sown at redemption.
“At salvation our love for God comes alive. There is also what is called the joy of salvation and the peace of God.”
He said further, “Salvation brings new life. It is a tangible gift of God. The evidence of salvation is the fruit of the Spirit, against which there is no law. The kingdom is not in meat and drink, but righteousness.”
While insisting that “one cannot be in the faith and not know,” he recalled how at 19 he found himself in a village that had no church and ensured he started a church before he left the village.
He said the impact he made in the village was so real that by the time he was leaving the place, the villagers gave him a lantern, which he said became prophetic of his faith journey.
He said, “They gave me a lantern and said to me, ‘May the light you brought to our village shine around the world.’ We later handed over the church to a missionary. The church is still there”
He told the congregation that “there is no way you can be saved without the joy of God in your heart. Doing the right things becomes natural. Jesus has not just come to give us life, but abundant life.”

Pastor Kumuyi later wrote on his social media handle: “It was a great joy to welcome my dear friend and fellow servant of God, Bishop David Olaniyi Oyedepo, to the Global Crusade with Kumuyi in Ota. His presence brought great joy to the gathering, and we give God all the glory for the wonderful moment of fellowship.”
