The Vice Chancellor of McPherson. University Ogun state, Professor Francis Igbasan has urged church leaders to spend time and resources for personal development while also urging them to embrace management training so they could maximise their ministry.
He made the call at the orientation for newly admitted students for the university’s executive diploma in church management which took place on Tuesday, May 6 online.
The programme is jointly run by the university with Christian Leadership Skills Inc established by Rev Albert Aina a fellow of the Chartered Institute of Personnel Management.
Aina’s organisation supplies all the technical details amd course.content including resource persons while the university runs the administrative and organisational aspects of the training including the lecture platform.. it also awards the certificate.
Igbasan who congratulated the students for embarking on what he called exciting journey at McPherson University , he said their decision to embark on the programme marks the beginning of a transformative experience that will shape their academic, ministry, personality and general professional growth.
While emphasizing that the course is being run in association with the Christian Leadership Skills Incorporated under the able leadership of Rev. Albert Aina, he said, ‘As diploma students, you are about to embark on a rigorous academic program designed to equip you with the contemporary knowledge, relevant skills and competencies required to excel in Church Administration and Management.’
He urged the new students to take advantage of the resources, facilities, and support services available in this programme. ‘Engage with your lecturers, peers, and mentors intentionally. Be proactive in seeking help when needed and be open to new experiences, ideas, and perspectives. ‘
Igbasan also pleased with them to participate in discussions actively, and complete assignments diligently.
‘Develop effective study habits, and seek feedback from your lecturers to improve your performance. More importantly, you need to know that McU diploma certificate is not for sale! You must earn it!’ he said.
Giving further counsel he said, ‘focus on personal growth and development. Cultivate skills, values, and attitudes that will serve you well in your future career and personal life.
‘Be proactive, resilient, and adaptable in the face of challenges. Through the various interactive platforms, I want to encourage you to intentionally cultivate meaningful relationships with your peers, and build a support network that will last a lifetime.’
He stated that McPherson University values community engagement and service.’ Look for opportunities to give back to the community, volunteer, or participate in initiatives that promote social responsibility. These experiences will broaden your perspective, foster empathy, and help you become a well-rounded individual. Ensure you spread the gospel of the Executive Diploma programme.’
The VC disclosed that the university has also optimized learning through its modern Management Learning Systems while praying that the new students will.have a fulfilled time in McPherson University

The Director of ICT McPherson University, Dr Kayode Oladipo, also gave a lecture on Learning Management System,which is the ICT Platform on which Executive Diploma in Church Management is run

The team of the Christian Leadership Skills was led by its Chief Executive officer, Rev Albert O AINA, FCIPM as well as Faculty members Rev Ajibola Jolaosho, FCA, Rev Niyi Oloyede,, Communication experts and Pastor Ezekiel Atayero, among others
