Rev Emiko Amostuka, Bishop Abraham Olaleye, Pastor Femi Aribisala will be part of a two-day conference organised by the Bearer of Light Missions World Outreach. The conference is slated for September 29 and 30

Also expected at the event are:  Pastor Olaide Odusote, Pastor Kayode Oyedepo and a host of other pastors from different denominations.

The event will hold at 7, Mojeed Sanni Street by College Bus stop, Igando, Lagos.

The conference

Dr. Sam Adeyemi

Host of the Conference, Dr. Sam Oyemade disclosed in an interview that the conference will examine the two distinct natures of Jesus when he was physically on earth.

He said the goal is to enable participants to have a good picture of Jesus’ ministry vis-a-vis their own ministry.

Oyemade said, “We want to examine the humanity and divinity of Christ. We all know that he was both God and man. This is an issue of dual nature. It is a difficult discourse but we have to look at it.”

On why the subject is important, he said, “Some people have the impression that they can also be fully God like Jesus was when he was on earth and thereby arrogate to themselves so much power. So we really want to do justice to the issue:

“We are going to be asking the question: Do we have the dual nature of Christ? Is there a time when we can be absolutely God and also absolutely man just like Jesus? These are some of the tough issues or questions we will examine at this year’s conference.”

Our Humanity

He explained further that the conference which is the 7th of its kind, “will also ensure we don’t have too much expectation from ourselves. For instance, if I hold a revival of 1,000 participants, and I say I will pray, and everyone at the revival will be healed. That means I’m stepping out of my bounds. When we operate as man people shouldn’t see us as Superman, otherwise when we fall sick people will ask, can’t we pray for ourselves? That is where deception starts.

“When we operate as leaders without arrogating any special thing to ourselves we will live normally,” he said.

The primary audience of the conference are pastors, church workers, and all those who run one form of ministry or the other. Participants will also include non-ministers and followers who love God and want to know more about the things of God

Bearers of Light (BOL) Missions World Outreach was established with an ultimate mission to evangelize pastors and ministers of God, who would in turn evangelize the world as commissioned by the Lord.

Oyemade said the ultimate aim of the ministry is to train the trainers.

Nature of the conference

The yearly conference is geared towards impacting church leaders.

“It is usually an open and interactive conference of ministers from all walks of life. The event will be shared online so that those who can’t get to the venue will have the opportunity to participate as it unfolds. It is an unusual conference. No preacher will monopolise the talk. Speakers are going to just share their views while participants will interrogate those views and also make contributions.”

Impact of BOL

Bearers of Light (BOL) has trained and graduated over a thousand ministers and leaders across different church denominations. It runs a Bible school and its goal is to help strengthen the shepherds.

“We are not competing with churches. We are simply doing what Aaron did to Moses. That is what we do essentially. And I believe Jesus will say to us someday Well done thou faithful servant. We are committed to doing our own portion in his vineyard. The feedback we get is quite encouraging. We have a theological class where we award degrees in conjunction with Teleo University in America.

“We run regular and weekend classes for pastors, evangelists, ministers, and other offices of Christian or ministerial leadership. We have what we call the Stephens’ Class, the DMC Master class, and the TNET class.” Oyemade stated.
