Benue State Holds Carnival Procession to herald 2024

The Honourable Commissioner for Youth, Sports and Creativity, Benue State, Rt. Hon. Terkimbi Ikyange, has announced that  the state will hold Carnival Procession to Harald Year 2024. He also extended invitation to the general public to participate in the state procession.

In a statement, he disclosed that the procession will commence at 9:00 pm on Sunday, 31st of December, 2023,.  It will take off at the Low-level roundabout, Makurdi, and will proceed up to Wurukum Roundabout, and back to the same Low-Level roundabout where the countdown to mark the break of a new dawn.

“During the Procession, there will be a display of fireworks, Live Musical performances, and dancing by different artistes. There will also be comedy performances, Folk singers, Christian music, and brief exhortations by invited men of God who will offer prayers for the people and Government of the State for a successful end of the Year, 2023, in anticipation of a greater New Year, 2024”, Hon. Ikyange said.

He said the Procession will be Streamed live for people to watch the events, and Giant Screens will also be placed in strategic designations for the viewing public.

“To this end, we also wish to inform the public especially those who will be commuting during the Procession that those heading to Wurukum Roundabout from town should either use Vandeikya or Katsina Ala Streets to hit their destinations, while those coming from Gboko road can use Onitsha Street behind the State Library/City Bay to access the town.”

 

 

“We regret any inconveniences these temporary changes/direction in routes may cause commuters”, he pleaded.
