Pastor Abel Damina Denies Controversial Heaven Statement Reported by Punch Nigeria
Popular preacher, Pastor Abel Damina has denied ever saying not only believers in Jesus will go to heaven.
He made the denial in a video sighted online by Church Times
Damina said he was misquoted by the Punch Newspapers.
He said there was no time he stated in the message that not only believers in Jesus will go to heaven.
Damina argued that Punch deliberately misquoted him saying the story of the newspaper is an affront of his faith and the gospel
He said, ‘ We never said such.’
He then asked his congregation, ‘Did we ever say such?
Damina continued, ‘This is misleading. This is criminal. This is not of God. I just don’t want to get our lawyers to jump on this. This is not of God. ‘
He said the newspaper ought to have called or clarified before putting up the publication.
He urged his congregation to go on the link of Punch and let them know they had lied.
I never said anybody who doesn’t believe in Jesus anywhere they are will go to heaven. I never said that. What I said is that God is not a Christian.
‘I also said not only Christians will go to heaven but anyone who believes that Jesus died, he was buried and he rose the third day will go to heaven.’

When a man talks too much, he is bound to be misquoted. Dr Abel Damina, please face your gospel and stop all these attacks on other people’s messages.
Well, I don’t have a problem with a Pastor talking too much as long as he is focused on the Gospel. The problem I see is that when you begin to major on minor things, when you beging to address the core issues, it’s acceptability will be crowded with the irrelevances that has characterized your demeanor. This is what I see is the major issue with our beloved Pastor Abel Damina. If he will just focus on the revelation he has without without trying to be spectacular, the tendency to bring balance to so many aspect of the body of Christ particularly in Nigeria will excell more through his ministry. But he’s engaged conversations that has now reduced the relevance of the core of his ministry. We still must pray for him.
