President Donald Trump has started a process that may mark the beginning of the end of terrorism in Nigeria with the launching of what he called a deadly airstrike on the camp of ISIS in northwest Nigeria on Christmas night

He made this known on his Truth Social handle on Thursday December 25

He wrote, “Tonight, at my direction as Commander in Chief, the United States launched a powerful and deadly strike against ISIS Terrorist Scum in Northwest Nigeria, who have been targeting and viciously killing, primarily, innocent Christians, at levels not seen for many years, and even Centuries!” Trump said

“I have previously warned these Terrorists that if they did not stop the slaughtering of Christians, there would be hell to pay, and tonight, there was. The Department of War executed numerous perfect strikes, as only the United States is capable of doing.

“Under my leadership, our Country will not allow Radical Islamic Terrorism to prosper,” he continued. “May God Bless our Military, and MERRY CHRISTMAS to all, including the dead Terrorists, of which there will be many more if their slaughter of Christians continues.”

it will be recalled that the former Minister of Defence, Mohammed Badaru Abubakar once reportedly said that bandits and terrorists are hiding in the forests to avoid bombs.

The minister stated this in an interview with the BBC Hausa Service according to reports.

In the interview he highlighted the dangers of bombing bandits’ hideouts while also stating that the military operatives were close to ending banditry in the country.

Many Nigerians are however already applauding the military action by the US which came a day after terrorists attacked a mosque in Sokoto which left many people dead..
