Pastor Mrs. Oluremi Tinubu has called on Nigerians to pray for the success of the incoming government while noting that she and her husband have been bruised and that their bodies are not the same.

She however gave the assurance that they have a strong spirit to face the challenge ahead.

Mrs Tinubu was speaking at the National Christian Centre, Abuja at a service ahead of the Monday, May 29 inauguration of her husband, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu as the President of Nigeria.

She said in the service monitored online by Church Times, “I am a silent worker. I listen and I hear. It is not out of pride. It’s about what the journey has melted on us. We have been bruised, our body is not the same but the spirit of God is in us. The Bible says when the spirit is there it will sustain our infirmity.”

She then called on Nigerians to pray for a successful tenure to the “one God of all flesh as stated in the book of Ephesians 4v6”

Earlier in her speech she said God had proved Himself by the success of her husband at the polls.

Her words, “God has proved himself as he did during the primary. We never believed this could happen but thank God for giving us the resilience and hope to run the race of life. We need the support of everyone to do what Nigerians are expecting.”

The incoming first lady, who is also a pastor in the Redeemed Christian Church of God, noted that the inauguration of her husband on May 29 would make it the 7th successful transition since 1999.

She said number 7 signifies perfection, adding that God will perfect all the concerns of Nigeria.  “This is the 7th democratic transition. It is time for the perfection of Nigeria. I remember for over two years we have been praying in our churches using Isaiah 43v18 that God will do a new thing’

While declaring that her family has been blessed, she said, “Nigeria’s wealth belongs to everyone. We don’t need the wealth of Nigeria to survive. With God, we will do the right thing. With God, we will set this nation on the right path.”
