Obaseki @ RCCG Congress, recalls what Adeboye told him about Edo election

by Church Times

The governor of Edo State, Mr. Godwin Obaseki was among a number of people who came out to testify to the goodness of God at the ongoing Holy Ghost Congress on December 11 at the Redemption Camp of the Redeemed Christian Church of God.

Obaseki who was the last to testify at the Friday event started off his testimony by declaring the goodness of God and saying he alone has power and worthy of praise.

He then shared how he came to the Holy Ghost camp a year before the Edo election.

He said, “the other side of the testimony most people don’t know about is that about the time the crisis in the state started about a year ago, I came to see daddy G.O and asked him to pray for me. He did pray and said my son it is well. He said don’t be afraid you will overcome and you will win.

“A few months before the election, I came again to see him at home before the lockdown he prayed with me and prayed for me and said to me that it will be well.”

Obaseki used the opportunity to thank all those who stood by him and prayed throughout the election time in Edo State saying that God had indeed answered his prayers.

He recalled that the RCCG G.O. had assured that he would win the election “but that the problem will not be with the victory. He said the challenges will come after the election.”

He then urged Nigerians to continue to pray for him.

It would be recalled that Obaseki had a challenging time while trying to vie for a second term in Edo State.

The then Chairman of his former party, Mr. Adams Oshiomhole refused to support him for a second term.

Obaseki pulled out of the party and joined the People’s Democratic Party through which he later won a second term; defeating Pastor Osagie Ize Iyamu, his closest rival in the election who ran on the platform of the All Progressives Congress
