Money responds to value not to sentiments by Gbemiga Olakunle

To get the best out of life and be prosperous as stated in 3 John 2( KJV) and I quote,” Beloved, I wish above all things that thou mayest prosper and be in health, even as thy soul prospereth”; one needs to make oneself valuable to GOD and to humanity.

Things don’t just happen on a sustainable level. They happen as a result of a sustained relationship that exists between two personalities either vertically or horizontally. Vertically as in between man and GOD or a deity. When it is horizontal, it is between man and his fellow humans.

And a relationship can exist through Service either to a Supernatural being or to a human being or an organization be it a political, religious, public or private organization.

When people make themselves valuable to GOD by serving and honouring Him, they can be assured of His protection and all-around blessings- the ones that money can purchase and several others that money cannot buy.

For example, money cannot prevent or ward off sudden spiritual attacks especially from unsuspected quarters, household enemies or unfriendly friends.

It’s only GOD Who knows the days of trouble ahead of any individual because He is in the picture of whatever the enemies may be planning for His children. And so GOD is always several steps ahead of the enemies.

However, in most cases, GOD can use human agents or vessels to communicate His blessings to those who have sustained a relationship with Him.

Hence, the need to make ourselves valuable to our fellow human beings wherever we found ourselves through the rendering of Services that can be personal or corporate.

In other words, to make people willing and be ready to be of blessing to us, we must make ourselves valuable to them and not just exist as someone that they just need to tolerate in their lives.

And to buttress the above-mentioned points, even our LORD JESUS CHRIST has these to say in John 12: 26(b) “…if any man serves me, him, will My Father honour”.

And this kind of honour in most cases comes in form of answered prayers and blessings that money cannot buy as earlier stated.

Succinctly put, the details of these blessings are aptly captured in the whole chapter of Psalm 91 with special reference to the last two verses ” He ( GOD’S child who serves and has a relationship with Him) will call upon Me ( GOD); I will answer him in trouble, I will deliver him and honour him. With long life will I satisfy him, and show him My salvation”.

Besides individuals, families, communities or even a Nation can make themselves valuable to GOD corporately by distancing themselves from any form of wickedness, and instead. uphold righteousness so that we can be in good standing with GOD in order to sustain His blessings over us.

” Righteousness exalts a nation: but sin is a reproach to any people”, Prov. 14: 34, KJV. Since our righteousness is of GOD, and so the grace to be righteous before God, He will also impart it into us in JESUS Name.
