Imperative of a clean heart in the service of God

Truly GOD is good to Israel, even to such as are of a CLEAN HEART” – Psalm 73: 1, KJV.

When someone is good to you, it means a blank cheque has been given to that person. And so he or she can make any request. And even with that blank cheque, one can not request above the financial capacity of the person offering the cheque. This is because man is limited in resources and time.

He can make a promise which he intends to fullfil provided all things are still equal for him and more especially if he or she is still alive and still in good financial standing.

But that is not the case with our GOD who is limitless in resources and time. And so in order to be a beneficiary of His good nature and resources at all times, let us maintain a Clean Heart towards Him and our fellow human beings and other living things.

And as we do so, may He continue to be good to us at any time we may for upon Him for any assistance in JESUS Name.

But then the question remains what is it about having a clean heart. A clean heart isn’t about perfection or never having a dark thought; it’s about transparency, intention, and the absence of deceit in our heart. It is about being sincere with God and with man.

What Defines a “Clean Heart”?

A clean heart is essentially an emotional and spiritual workspace that is free of “residue.” The heart sometimes can get cluttered with all kinds of thoughts that don’t give glory to God. It is our duty with the help of God to declutter it..

One of the signs to show our heart is not clean is when we have resentment: Holding onto old grievances and never letting those grievances to slide. We practice deceit in our dealings with people.

We keep malice and have this subtle hope that someone else fails so we can feel better. When these are prevalent in our heart it is certain that we will not have a free flow with God.

A clean heart operates with sincerity. It means your “yes” is a true yes, and your kindness isn’t a transaction. When the heart is clean, there is a profound alignment between what you think, what you say, and what you do.

As we journey in this Christian journey it is imperative that we maintain a clean heart before God and before men. It is the most liberating thing to do.

The grace of God is available to help us navigate this bend in our walk with God. But we must be willing to allow him carry out the cleansing of our heart on a daily basis..
