LIFT UP YOUR HEADS, O YE GATES!
” Lift up your heads, O ye gates; and be ye lift up, ye everlasting doors; and the King of glory shall come in.
” Who is this King of glory, The LORD strong and mighty, the LORD mighty in battle.
” Lift up your heads, O ye gates, even lift them up, ye everlasting doors, and the King of glory shall come in.
” Who is this King of glory, The LORD of hosts, He is the King of glory. Selah.”- Psalm 24:7-10, KJV.
Gates, depending on the context they are used, can serve as a form of security to secure lives and properties of a household, neighbourhood or even a whole Community/ Settlement just like in the olden days when some Communities were protected with the erection of high walls and gates especially in Israel and some kingdoms in Africa.
Gates, can in another context which is our main focus here, as quoted in the above Scriptures serve as barriers/ limitations or restrictions.
Hence there is the need for the Command to be repeated twice. Spiritual barriers can actually limit people’s progress and achievements in life.
This ugly trend can manifest itself in manifold ways when operating in the lives of individuals/ families, Communities or even a whole Nation.
When a man or a particular family is suffering from vicious cycle of poverty, near success syndrome, unexplainable delays in marriage or records of laudable achievements and in extreme cases consistency in occurrence of untimely deaths, then definitely these are signs that these evil gates whose heads need to be lifted up, are at work.
In the case of a Community, these evil gates rear their ugly heads when a Community is not experiencing any form of appreciable physical, socio -economic or even spiritual developments.
Governments at all levels or even Non- Government Organisations ( NGOs) seem to ignore such Communities when it comes to provisions of basic social amenities/ infrastructures.
On a macro level, the operations of these evil gates can also be noticed in the life of a Nation when such a Nation is suffering from Bad Leadership with its by-products as unresolved prolonged security challenges, poor economy, social upheavals, acute hunger, abject poverty, endemic and systemic corruption, just to mention a few.
At whatever levels they may be operating, these undesirable evil gates do hinder individual or communal progress, prosperity/ blessings, peace and tranquility of any group of people.
So there is the need for us to command them to lift up their heads wherever and whenever we notice their evil operations be it at micro or macro levels.
And as we begin to issue the prescribed Command in faith, the spiritual ears of these gates will hear us and their heads shall be lifted up so that we as the Sons and Daughters of the King of kings can march forward and possess our possessions in JESUS Name.
As a matter fact, we do not need any Prophet to tell us that if Nigeria as a nation should march forward and fulfill her destiny as a Superpower in the Comity of Nations.
Certain gates must be commanded to have their heads lifted up. The same Command is applicable to the ongoing Russian- Ukrainian hostilities so that peace can reign once again in that Region.
And as we do so, the LORD will back up the issuance of our Decree/ Command with power and enable us to see the desired good manifestations in our individual/ families, Communities, National and Global lives very soon in JESUS Name.
