Former aide to President Goodluck Jonathan and best selling author, Reno Omokri has given further insight to the present crisis involving Daddy Freeze and some church leaders.
In a new video posted on his You Tube page Omokri shared how he reconciled Apostle Johnson Suleman, Overseer of Omega Fire Ministry with Daddy Freeze and how he and Suleman influenced Freeze to have a change of heart towards pastors.
He said the video that is currently trending where he abused Bishop Oyedepo using foul language was done three years ago .
He added that since he and Suleman counselled Freeze he stopped abusing pastors.
Omokri who is also a pastor and who has been championing the free Leah Sharibu movement said he was the first person to start a relationship with Daddy Freeze but had to bring him closer to Apostle Suleman after he released a video where he was abusing Suleman.
He said Suleman had wanted to react to the video but that he counseled him not to do so but rather find a way he could influence him positively.’
‘I got in contact with Freeze in 2017. It was after that I brought him closer to Freeze in 2018. And they have been having phone conversation.” he said.
Omokri likened Daddy Freeze to Apollos in the Bible who had the zeal of God but lacked knowledge.
He stated that he felt obliged to get closer to Freeze because he is a broadcaster and could have a negative influence on many people.
While disclosing that he and Apostle Suleman study the Bible together in Greek, Aramaic and Hebrew, he said, ‘since we counseled Daddy Freeze, he has stopped abusing pastors. The video circulating currently is a three-year old video. and was done before we influenced him.’
He warned against cursing Freeze but rather he should be drawn closer.
He said he would prevail on Freeze to apologize to Bishop David Oyedepo.
‘I have a lot of respect for Bishop Oyedepo. A person of his status deserves respect because of the great things God has used him to achieve. Bishop Oyedepo is one of the men of God I have great respect for in this country.’
