David Ibiyeomie: God can’t bless you beyond your obedience

by Church Times

General Overseer of Salvation Ministries, David Ibiyeomie has said God can’t bless a believer beyond his obedience to divine instruction.

Ibiyeomie made the submission on December 11 at the yearly Shiloh programme of the Living Faith Church Worldwide holding at the Canaanland, Ota, Ogun State.

He said “the blessings of the believer stop where his obedience stops. The moment you do what is wrong, blessings will stop. Things will get tight for you for instance if you don’t pay your tithe.”

“Quick response to God’s instruction is a gateway to divine upliftment and blessings. You don’t sing Abraham’s song and not do what he did. Abraham responded promptly to God’s instruction. Responding to God’s instruction promptly is proof that you trust him.”

The Port Harcourt based pastor gave an instance where his ministry needed money for accommodation but that the money they had was not enough.

But God according to him turned the situation around because he had the understanding that “if the money in your hand is not enough to meet your need, it is a seed”, he had to give out the money to the work going on at the Faith Tabernacle in 1999.

He said shortly after, God provided money that would be needed for the accommodation he was looking for in Port Harcourt.

Ibiyomie said further, “whenever God gives you instruction, respond promptly. It is the only proof that you trust him. When you doubt God, you cause him pain. Whenever a believer is experiencing retrogression, the believer should look inwards and check areas that he has been disobeying God.

“Do what God asks you to do regardless of your feelings or what it will cost. That is the only proof that you truly know the God you are serving.

“Delayed response to God’s instruction is the reason for failure and poverty,” he said.

David Ibiyeomie: I wanted to do ministry in Lagos

Giving another instance about his experience with God, he said he had always loved to do ministry in Lagos but God asked him to go to Port Harcourt which he never liked. He struggled with the idea of going to Port Harcourt. He stayed back in Lagos, but things did not work.

He said it was his wife who now urged him to obey God’s instruction of going to Portharcourt.

“The day I decided to obey God to go to Port Harcourt was when doors began to open for my ministry.” He said.

He added that “anytime you respond to God promptly, God brings you a miracle.”

According to him, ignorance, lack of faith, and reliance on man are some of the reasons people don’t obey God promptly.

He said however that “those who respond to God’s instruction promptly experience breakthrough, promotion, and miracles. Never delay what you have been told by God. Do your part.” He concluded.
