A preacher and founder of Arm of God Reconciliation Outreach (AGRO) Mrs. Clara Alao has called on the newly elected president of the Pentecostal Fellowship of Nigeria, Bishop Wale Oke to emulate Nehemiah in rebuilding the broken walls of the Church in Nigeria.
Alao who congratulated Bishop Oke on his appointment in a statement signed by her media assistant Dr. Wole Olarinde said there are clear evidence that the walls of the church have broken down.
She said Bishop Oke must take on the challenge of rebuilding the broken wall just as Nehemiah took on the challenge of rebuilding the walls of Jerusalem.
Bishop Oke: Imbibe the spirit of Nehemiah
The statement reads in part, “AGRO appeals to Bishop Wale Oke to imbibe the spirit of Nehemiah to rebuild and lead the Church in Nigeria back to righteousness, love, and unity.
“Bishop Oke has been raised by God for such a time like this as PFN National President to rebuild and lead the Church in Nigeria back to righteousness. The present state of the Church in Nigeria is too worrisome. Like Nehemiah was concerned with the situation of Jerusalem after the captivity, Bishop Oke should be concerned with the present situation of the Church in Nigeria,
“When Nehemiah heard about the broken wall of Jerusalem, he sat down and wept, mourned for certain days, fasted and prayed before the God of heaven. He was sorrowful for the great affliction and reproach and the wall of Jerusalem that is also broken and its gates burned down. And he took up the task to rebuild Jerusalem.”
The ministry according to the statement noted that “Charlatan preachers, inordinate ambition, self-aggrandizement of church leaders, corrupted sermons, immorality on both the pew and the pulpit, loss of love and unity in the body of Christ are evidence that the wall of the Nigerian Church is broken, and which allows the enemy to attack the Church. It will take righteousness to revive and rebuild the Church. Therefore, AGRO appeals to the PFN leadership to lead the Church back to righteousness.”
AGRO: How it was birthed
The Arm of God Reconciliation Outreach (AGRO) according to the statement was birthed after two separate visions received from God by Mrs. Alao to foster unity and love in the body of Christ as well as to promote righteousness in the body.
“God called Mrs. Alao as an intercessor on the platform of the Arm of God Reconciliation outreach (AGRO) to foster unity and love in the body of Christ that they all may be one ( John 17:21), to work as a support arm in the body of Christ and to promote righteousness in the body of Christ,” the statement concludes
