Anglican Archbishop of Lagos to deliver WATS 33rd convocation lecture

The Archbishop of Lagos of the Church of Nigeria Anglican Communion, The Most Rev Michael Fape will deliver the 33rd convocation lecture of the West Africa Theological Seminary.

The Director of Adminstration of the institution., Dr. Tosin Awolalu made this known in a statement made available to Church Times

He said the event will hold at the Ipaja, Lagos premises of the school on Saturday September  9

The Theme of the Convocation Lecture is,
“Pastoral Leadership and Development of a National Ethos.”

Fape holds a second class upper degree from the prestigious University of lbadan,  He obtained the Masters of Sacred Theology (S.T.M). degree from the Yale University Divinity School, New Haven, CT. U.S.A in 1990.

Between 1992 and 1996 he was awarded the Langham Trust Scholarship to study for his Ph.D degree in New Testament Studies at the University of Aberdeen, Aberdeen, Scotland, UK, graduating in 1996.

Awolalu described him as a dedicated Pastor and Teacher whose pastoral and teaching ministries have brought joy to many lives in various churches in Nigeria, U.S.A and the UK.

He was formerly a Senior Lecturer at Immanuel College of Theology, Ibadan, where he lectured in New Testament Studies, New Testament Greek, Homiletics, and Clinical Theology.

Fape was one time Clerical Secretary, Church of Nigeria, Anglican Communion. He is the current Bishop of the Diocese of Remo, Church of Nigeria, Anglican Communion, Chairman Church of Nigeria Theological Resource Group (CON TG); apart from being the Archbishop, Lagos Ecclesiastical Province.

Expected at the event are Church leaders, captains of industries, Obas and other eminent personalities in the society.

The Provost of the Seminary, Rev Dr Dauda A. Gava is expected to preside over the Convocation ceremony
