Man as 666
Serving Overseer of Citadel Global Community Church, Pastor Tunde Bakare in an explosive online Bible study programme on Wednesday June 10 gave an insight on what the number 666 means from Biblical standpoint.
He also took time to explain why the church must not be in a hurry to reopen for services despite pressures by some people to get them opened again.
In the message which was aired via the Facebook page of the church, Bakare stated that the number 6 is the number of man noting that man was created on the sixth day of creation.
Man will become god to himself

He said the implication of that number on end time issues is that man would become a god to himself and thereby do away with God. This according to him will culminate in the second fall of man.
He said in the first fall of man, it was God who drove man out of the garden.
Bakare reasoned that God presented three options to Adam and Eve in the garden: the tree of life, the tree of good and evil and the three that was available for them to eat.
He then explained that Adam was created as a free moral agent who had the capacity to make choice from these trees. “man was not created mortal neither was he created immortal.
He was a free moral agent and had capacity to make a choice. He chose to eat the tree of knowledge of good and evil which threw the human race to its present state and made man a mortal.
“He was driven out of the garden. But Jesus Christ came to pay the price for the sin of Adam so that man can become immortal. Man at the end would be given the tree of life as stated in the book of Revelation”
Bakare said further that the danger of the human condition today is that, “Man has reached a position where he thinks he no longer needs God. The Book of Job 21v 9-10 rightly captures the state of man.
“This is also captured by an atheist, Steven Pinker, who in a recent tweet said, “Belief in an afterlife is a malignant delusion, since it devalues actual lives and discourages action that would make them live longer, safer, and happier. Exhibit A: What’s really behind Republicans wanting a swift reopening? Evangelicals.””
While noting that Pinker was wrong in his position, he said the church should not play into the hands of people like him by making them think there is some ulterior motive behind call for opening places of worship now.
Noah on lockdown for 150 days
He said God is saving us from calamity by this lockdown. “Noah was on lockdown in the ark for about 150 days. He did not come out of the ark until the flood subsided. Recently a church was opened in Washington and it was recorded that about 40 members of the church have Covid-19. Let us stay in the secret pavilion for just this time till the pandemic clears off” he said
Still on the 666, he said, “When reason replaces God in your life you already have the number. It is not that we should not use our brain again, but our reason should not take precedence over God.
The book of Jeremiah 10v1-11 gives us a clear picture of how people worship idols. If your god is in your pocket, you’re a compound fool. Those who preach that we are gods better wake up.”
He lamented that there are so many people who are merchandising the gospel and using the name of God to make name for themselves adding that besides every faithful church is a synagogue of Satan.
Describing the current delusion of man as anthropological theology he said, “Man has become a god to himself” stating that the tripod sin of lust of the flesh, lust of the eyes and pride of life have now become the centre point of life for the average man.
He said character is the stability of the anointing warning that, “Churches do die. If it is living that means it can die. In dead churches people can fight over anything. They fight for position and kinds of things.”
He admonished that people should hold to their faith fervently reminding his listeners of the foolishness of the five virgins and the wisdom of the other five.
He however warned that in seeking wisdom people must understand that there are demonic wisdom, the wisdom of man and the wisdom of God. He then counseled that man should seek the wisdom of God always.
