Founder and Senior Pastor of the Embassy of the Blessed Kingdom of God for All Nation in Ukraine, Pastor Sunday Adelaja has once again taken to his Facebook page to eulogise Bishop David Oyedepo founder of Winners Chapel

He described Oyedepo in a Facebook post this morning April 25 as one of Nigeria’s most talented, hardworking and dynamic personality.

In the last three days, Adelaja has been highlighting his relationship with Nigerian pastors. In the last few days, he talked about Pastor Williams Kumuyi and Pastor Enoch Adeboye describing them in glowing terms though he disagrees with some of their doctrinal leanings.

On Oyedepo, he posted a picture he and his wife took with him saying the picture was taken when Bishop Oyedepo was kind enough to receive him and his wife in his place.

He then stated that Oyedepo is undoubtedly “one of the most talented, hardworking and dynamic Nigerians out there.”

Adelaja however took exception to Oyedepo’s ‘word of faith theology and addiction to prosperity doctrine plus personal vanity’ stating that such stance has “brought him to a place of almost irreversible apostasy.”

While calling for prayers for Oyedepo he signed off saying, “for the lover of God and nation”

But many on his Facebook followers took turn to assess his comments on Oyedepo. Some sided with him while a number disagreed with him wondering when he turned to the policeman of God.

A respondent Francis Dafe Says, “The word Apostasy is too heavy to use.

I just listened to your preaching @ Rev. Sam Adeyemi 2005, I don’t know how you got here and now the mouth piece of Elohim.”

Another commentator believes Adelaja needs more prayers. He posits, “You need prayer of restoration more than him sir. Now that you’ve turned examiner/ accuser of the brethren. Those you see hailing you sir, hate you and are not God’s Children because this is not God’s method.”

In his own comment, Belmondo Belvedere writes, “Your efforts to revolutionise the Nigerian Christianity is second to none, I have never seen such before. You are such a brave Pastor, undermining your memorable relationship with them you still say it to their faces their lapses in Christendom”

Oluwasuyi Ayodeji presents a circumspect analysis of the post stating, “Sir, I have been following some of the things you write about these respected men of God. We are not in any position to condemn anyone as Christ did not condemn anyone of us, hence we would not have been saved. We are to correct people in love even when we think they err. Even Jesus did not condemn the adulterous woman caught in the very act.

“The Statement of result of Bishop David Oyedepo and any man of God is not in the hands of any mortal man. It is in the hands of the Almighty and He will judge us all on the last day. Saying Bishop Oyedepo has drifted towards irreversible apostasy is not good enough sir. How often do you pray for them? God is watching and will surely reward every one of us. It’s only a matter of time.”

Okuneye Joseph however believes “Pastor Sunday has a twisted knowledge of who Bishop David Oyedepo is and what he represents to the body of Christ,James4:11,12 should be a text to consider, Oyedepo is a man after God’s heart.”
