The Apostolic Church Nigeria (LAWNA) Theological Seminary (LATS), Ilesa, Osun State, has continued to make preparations for its 34th convocation ceremony which promises to be unique.
The event will be held on Wednesday, 22, and Thursday, 23 November, 2023 at the Pastor. Gabriel Oladele Olutola International Conference Centre, LATS, Ilesa, Ifewara Road, Ayegbaju, Osun State.
Already the premises of the seminary is taking a new look as some buildings are being painted while the entire premises is being cleaned up.
Head of the ICT and Media unit; also the Deputy Chaplain, Pastor. Zacchaeus Olusegun Afolabi told Church Times that the seminary is wearing a new look because of the uniqueness of the convocation.
He said, “What you see is a testimony to how we take the coming convocation. Looking at the environment, you can see that the school is already in the mood for the convocation. The provost together with his team, as well as the Chairman of the Convocation Committee, are seriously working.
“It is our prayer that the Lord will strengthen them and all our Fathers, the Visitors of the Institution, as well as the Executive Council Members have all been informed and they are actually planning to come. We give God the Glory.”
The Diocesan Bishop of Ilesa of the Anglican Communion, Bishop Prof Dapo Asaju will speak at the 34th convocation ceremony. The ceremony also leads to the awards of Post Graduate Diploma certificates, Bachelor degrees, and Diploma certificates.
Bishop Prof. Asaju will be speaking on the theme; “Theological Education and The Building of an Egalitarian Society”.
The Visitor, Pastor (Dr). Senior Gabriel Okapko Uyeh JP, Vice President of The Apostolic Church Nigeria and LAWNA Territorial Chairman, will lead the Board of Governors under the Chairmanship of Dr. Femi Esan and the Seminary management under the leadership of Provost Pastor Gabriel Olugbenga Alakuko, Ph.D, during the ceremony.
The Apostolic Church Nigeria is a Pentecostal church in Nigeria with missionary fields in Africa, America, and Western Europe.
