A couple of YouTube videos about U.S. televangelist Kenneth Copeland that showed he has been sentenced to life imprisonment and some claiming that he collapsed in the court room have been discovered to be Artificial Intelligence generated video
Many have been sharing the videos and carried away by the report.
One of the videos which looks so convincing betrays elements of fakery.
There are no footings of real live situations in all the court procedures captured in the video..No person made any comment apart from the commentary that ran through the about 15 minutes clip and the attendant graphic illustration
‘The videos featured artificial intelligence-generated editing, voice narration and scripting — common tools for fictional content creators seeking YouTube advertising revenue.’ as noted by some commentators
Some of the videos have attracted thousands of views indicating how compelling they are.
But what many fail to realise is that there is no how a mainstream media will not report the news if it were true considering the status of Copeland.
Since the videos have been making the round there are no indications that the 88- year-old televangelist has reacted to it.
His purported sentencing to life imprisonment for alleged financial crime has turned out to be a conjecture by some of his detractors
But Snopes, a fact checking online platform notes, ‘Copeland has been the target of controversy before. In 2011, a group of U.S. senators released findings of an investigation into the financial practices of Kenneth Copeland Ministries (as well as other televangelists), as reported by outlets including CBS News and NBC News. No persons or ministries received any penalties as a result of the investigation.’
