Sexual sins, cause of spiritual wife, husband- Pastor D.K. Olukoya

General Overseer of Mountain of Fire and Miracles Ministry, Pastor Daniel Olukoya has said people who have extramarital relationships and those who watch pornography are prone to having spiritual wives and husbands.

He made the revelation in a recent message where he shared his experience in ministry on the issue.

In the message titled, “power against spirit husbands and wives” he said, those going against God’s command by having sexual intercourse outside marriage are most susceptible to the problem. He, however, said only true salvation and deliverance can save the victim.

He said, “any sex outside marriage opens you up for an invasion from the pit of hell. It constructs a bad foundation for your marriage”

Olukoya notes that many Christians fail to heed to this warning until it becomes an unbearable burden and begins to wreck their lives, family, business and relationship with God.

While stating that the believer’s body is the temple of God, he said there is no way a person will defile God’s temple that the person will not face the consequence, if the person remains adamant.

Giving an insight into how they operate, he said, “Spiritual husbands or wives are sent to torment people in their marriages. They are not visible to people except they are revealed by the Holy Spirit.”

Findings by our reporter show that though some people don’t believe that people are being tormented by spiritual husbands, there are indications that some are truly suffering from their activities.

Ruth Ordiakor who worships at the Deeper Life Bible Church told our reporter that she was addicted to pornography for several years. She said the addiction made her have strange dreams and demonic oppression for years until she had to take responsibility.

“Eventually I prayed and allowed the word of God to have his way in my life. I became free. Before then, I had sex in my dream a lot. After those rounds of sex, whatever I do thereafter would come to nothing. But the Lord delivered me eventually.”

She counselled that repentance from sin is necessary if one is to be freed from spiritual spouse and their evils. “Christians should avoid anything that would attract spiritual spouses, be prayerful and watchful as we know that the devil is always at war with the church.”
