Political realignment bedrock for bedlam- Okotie

by Church Times

Former presidential candidate and Shepherd Superintendent of the Household of God Church, Rev Chris Okotie, has described the ongoing political realignment in the country as a recipe for a future bedlam if not managed well.

Okotie who has lately been silent on the political situation of the country recently issues a terse statement suggesting his disapproval of the realignment ahead of the 2027 polls:

In his assesment the political situation of the country is still uncertain. He believes there is a lot of permutation and punditry gong on among politicians, a development which may not augur well for the political future of Nigeria.

The statement which he released on Wednesday August 27 reads, The political pendulum now swings within the axis of permutation and punditry. The set alarm will trigger an unprecedented frenzy that culminates in stupefying bedlam!”

Okotie has been actively involved in Nigerian politics. He is the founder of the Fresh Democratic Party (FDP) and has run for the Nigerian presidency multiple times, starting with his first bid in 2003 .

He is a strong advocate for restructuring the country’s government, proposing a system he calls “Aboriginal Democracy” as a replacement for the current presidential system.
