Pastor of House on the Rock, Paul Adefarasin, has again reinstated his commitment to the #endSARS protest saying it is just the beginning of several other demands for the reform of Nigeria.
Adefarasin made the declaration while addressing members of the church in a viral video.
He urged every member of the church to lend their voice to the cause insisting “that government cannot be government until the people let them know we put them there. Nobody can rule over you except you give them permission.”
He said he was happy that Nigerian youths have found their voice and have come to understand that “together with one voice we have power than any government”
While asking every member of the House on the rock to lend their voice not to attack government but to demand reforms he said, “We are starting with endSARS movement and we are certainly going to challenge everything that is wrong in our nation.”
Adefarasin who was one of the early pastors to issue a statement supporting the protest, said further, “You owe it to your children, grandchildren and potentials of this country otherwise your children will become refugees in lands that have fewer resources than Nigeria does.
“Now is the time to wake up to our responsibility and ensure that nobody is left out of the fight that justice is restored to our nation. That righteousness is restored back to our land. That equity is available to all Nigerians. No longer will government “continue to steal from us. No longer will the law enforcement of our nation inflict injustice on us when they are supposed to procure justice for us.”
Adefarasin commended the youths for their tenacity. “I want to commend this organic movement that is not led by anyone in particular. It’s just the heart cry of everybody. I am so proud of our youths. I believe that Martin Luther King is jumping in heaven seeing Nigerians rise to their cause. I am glad that TD Jakes has lent his voice. It is the silence of the good men and women that allows evil to continue.”
