The Intercontinental Overseer (Evangelism) of the Redeemed Christian Church of God, Pastor Johnson Oluwatomisin Kalejaiye has been appointed as a member of the board of trustees of the church.
His appointment according to a source in the church came after the death of Pastor Fola Aboaba who was a member of the Board of Trustees of the Church. Aboaba transited at the age of 90 on Saturday, January 21, 2023, after a brief illness.
Pastor Kalejaiye who celebrated his 68th birthday last April is the youngest member of the Board of Trustees of RCCG. Appointment of members to the Board is not limited by age or governed by the policy of retirement because all the current members of the Board are above 70 years old
Pastor Kalejaiye is a trained Accountant and a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Commerce of Nigeria (CICN). He is also a Fellow of the Institute of Credit Management of Nigeria. He had worked at the West African Examination Council (WAEC) in Lagos State.
According to a report sourced online, he said he joined RCCG because he had a challenge in his place of work and he needed spiritual intervention.
He said, “They told a lie against me; so I went to church. Not that I wanted to surrender my life, but because I wanted the pastor to pray for me. Daddy G.O. was the one ministering. It was a Thursday. He made an altar call. And as we were about to kneel on the altar, he said the Lord told him that all our problems were solved. I was shocked because he had not even listened to my problem. Lo and behold, I got to the office on Monday and then my boss recommended me that what he said was false and that gave me back my job.”
Known as the convener of the now-popular Anointing Service, he said in the online report that the ministry started as counseling platform. It was the counseling programmes that evolved into Anointing Service.
The Anointing Service started in a parish of the RCCG at Abule Odu in Egbeda. It extended to Ikoyi, Surulere, and Lekki, all in Lagos state.
On the Anointing Service, he said, “Due to the spiritual impact of the programme, similar services extended to the United States and the United Kingdom. In the USA, we hold similar services in 14 states and, in the UK, we have it in every place. So, I minister every day, sometimes twice, sometimes thrice, sometimes four to five times. There was a time I ministered six times.’
