Has the gift of speaking in tongues ceased?

For Christendom to believe and proclaim that the Gift of Speaking-in-Tongues was withdrawn after the events in the House of the Roman Centurion Cornelius is a Serious Mistake on our part.

The Visit of Peter to Cornelius’ House is recorded in ACTS chapter 10.

Our Mistake is that because we wish that Speaking-in-Tongues should cease, we refused to read ACTS chapter 19:

“And it came to pass, that, while Apollos was at Corinth, Paul having passed through the upper coasts came to Ephesus: and finding certain disciples,

He said unto them, Have ye received the Holy Ghost since ye believed? And they said unto him, We have not so much as heard whether there be any Holy Ghost.

And he said unto them, Unto what then were ye baptized? And they said, Unto John’s baptism.

Then said Paul, John verily baptized with the baptism of repentance, saying unto the people, that they should believe on him which should come after him, that is, on Christ Jesus.

When they heard this they were baptized in the name of the Lord Jesus.

And when Paul had laid his hands upon them, the Holy Ghost came on them; and THEY SPAKE WITH TONGUES, and prophesied.
And all the men were about twelve”.
Acts 19:1-7

4. Our source of Error is in the Dogmatic Belief that ALL THE EVENTS THAT TOOK PLACE IN THE EARLY CHURCH ARE DOCUMENTED IN THE Book The Acts of the Apostles.
5. We keep forgetting that the EVENTS recorded in the Book Acts of the Apostles were jotted down by DR LUKE.
6. We also forget that 120 Disciples were BAPTIZED with The HOLY SPIRIT in the Upper Room with the Evidence of Speaking-in-Tongues.
7. While 12 Apostles who were so Baptized settled in JERUSALEM as the Head of THE EARLY CHURCH,
8. The remaining 108 Disciples who were also BAPTIZED with the HOLY SPIRIT with the Evidence of Speaking-in-Tongues constituted the Lay Men and Women of the Early Church.
9. The LAY MEN of the EARLY CHURCH were the ones who went to JUDEA, SAMARIA and The Rest of the WORLD
   “Therefore they that were scattered abroad went every where preaching the word”. Acts 8:4

The LAYMEN planted CHURCHES and taught their Congregants all that the LORD JESUS CHRIST taught concerning the Roles of the HOLY SPIRIT.
“And these signs shall follow them that believe; In my name shall they cast out devils; THEY SHALL SPEAK WITH NEW TONGUES”;
Mark 16:17

10. Another of our Errors is that we do not recognize the fact that Dr Luke did not Document “”THE ACTS OF THE 108 DISCIPLES”, he only concentrated his writings in “THE ACTS OF THE APOSTLES”!
11. As the 108 DISCIPLES were planting Churches outside of Jerusalem, they were also taking the New Converts through the 2 SACRAMENTS of WATER BAPTISM and HOLY SPIRIT BAPTISM with the Evidence of Speaking-in-Tongues!
12. It will be a great Error on our part to believe and teach that THE ACTS OF THE DISCIPLES began and ended with what is written in the Book of THE ACTS OF THE APOSTLES.
13. Since DR LUKE was not Omni-present, he could not have documented All the EVENTS that occurred as a result of the Activities of the Disciples who were scattered abroad.
14. The Greatest Error of the Church is our Failure to recognize Speaking-in-Tongues AS A SIGN TO THE UNBELIEVERS!
15. The SIGN (or ADVERTISEMENT) that 10,000 needed to draw them to the Window of the UPPER ROOM was the Speaking-in-Tongues!
16. While THE HEAVENS rejoiced that 3,000 gave Their Lives to the LORD JESUS CHRIST as a Result of Speaking-in-Tongues, Satan had been MAD at the Gift of Speaking-in-Tongues since the Day of Pentecost!
17. So, SATAN is instigating some gullible Christians TO HATE THE GIFT OF SPEAKING-IN-TONGUES!
18. CHRISTIANS who Hate the GIFT OF SPEAKING-IN-TONGUES are also OPPOSED TO THE SACRAMENT OF GETTING PEOPLE BAPTIZED WITH HOLY SPIRIT AND POWER!
19. Most “Christians” who reject THE BAPTISM-WITH-THE-HOLY-SPIRIT with the Evidence of Speaking-in-Tongues, are the same ones who seek Spiritual Powers from both The Local and Foreign Secret Societies and Cults.
20. Church Members who join Secret Societies prefer to SPEAK INCANTATIONS rather than HOLY SPIRIT-inspired SPEAKING-IN-TONGUES
21. We forget that INCANTATIONS are from THE PIT OF HELL, while the Gift of SPEAKING-IN-TONGUES is from THE HIGHEST HEAVEN ABOVE!

22.SPEAKING-IN-TONGUES is so important in the Annals of the Church that it is THE ONLY SPIRITUAL GIFT WITH RULES governing its use:
(a)If any man speak in an unknown tongue, let it be by two, or at the most by three,
(b)and that by course; (c)let one interpret.
(d)But if there be no interpreter, let him keep silence in the church; and let him speak to himself, and to God.
Wherefore, brethren, covet to prophesy,
(e)and forbid not to speak with tongues.
(f)Let all things be done decently and in order”
1 Corinthians 14:27-28,39, 40

THE ADVANTAGES OF SPEAKING-IN-TONGUES:

1 Corinthians 14:1-End,

“For he that speaketh in an unknown tongue speaketh not unto men, but unto God: for no man understandeth him howbeit in the spirit he speaketh mysteries.

He that speaketh in an unknown tongue edifieth himself; but he that prophesieth edifieth the church.

I would that ye all spake with tongues, but rather that ye prophesied: for greater is he that prophesieth than he that speaketh with tongues, except he interpret, that the church may receive edifying.

Wherefore let him that speaketh in an unknown tongue pray that he may interpret.

For if I pray in an unknown tongue, my spirit prayeth, but my understanding is unfruitful.

What is it then? I will pray with the spirit, and I will pray with the understanding also: I will sing with the spirit, and I will sing with the understanding also.

Else when thou shalt bless with the spirit, how shall he that occupieth the room of the unlearned say Amen at thy giving of thanks, seeing he understandeth not what thou sayest?

In the law it is written, With men of other tongues and other lips will I speak unto this people; and yet for all that will they not hear me, saith the Lord.

Wherefore tongues are for a sign, not to them that believe, but to them that believe not: but prophesying serveth not for them that believe not, but for them which believe.

How is it then, brethren? when ye come together, every one of you hath a psalm, hath a doctrine, hath a tongue, hath a revelation, hath an interpretation. Let all things be done unto edifying.

THE ADVANTAGES OF SPEAKING-IN-TONGUES: 1 Corinthians 14:1-End explained

1. FOR SPEAKING TO GOD
   “For he that speaketh in an unknown tongue speaketh not unto men, but unto God:
2. FOR DISCERNING MYSTERIES in SITUARIONS
   for no man understandeth him howbeit in the spirit he speaketh mysteries”
3. FOR SELF-EDUCATION
   “He that speaketh in an unknown tongue edifieth himself; but he that prophesieth edifieth the church.
4. TONGUES + INTERPRETATION= PROPHECY
   “would that ye all spake with tongues, but rather that ye prophesied: for greater is he that prophesieth than he that speaketh with tongues, except he interpret,
5. FOR EDIFYING THE WHOLE CHURCH WHEN INTERPRETED
   “that the church may receive edifying”.

10. FOR SPEAKING TO PEOPLE OF OTHER TONGUES AS ON THE DAY OF PENTECOST

11. FOR A SIGN (ADVERTISEMENT) TO DRAW PEOPLE TO HEAR THE GOSPEL AS ON THE DAY OF PENTECOST

12. FOR MUTUAL EDIFICATION

13. FOR SPEAKING TO ONES SELF &GOD.
    “But if there be no interpreter, let him keep silence in the church; and let him speak to himself,

THE VITAL RULES GOVERNING SPEAKING IN TONGUES:

1. “forbid not to speak with tongues”.

2.TONGUE-SPEAKERS MUST NOT DISTURB THE ORDER OF A NORMAL CHURCH SERVICE
“Let all things be done decently and in order.
1 Corinthians 14:39-40

3. Always bear in mind that WHEN A GIFT IS REJECTED, IT IS NOT THE GIFT THAT IS REJECTED BUT IT IS THE GIVER OF THE GIFT THAT IS REJECTED
4. MAY WE NOT REJECT GOD-the-HOLY-SPIRIT by REJECTING THE GIFT OF SPEAKING-IN-TONGUES.
5. THE GOOD GOD-THE-HOLY-SPIRIT can never give a Bad Gift!
