The Foursquare Gospel Church in Nigeria has finalized plans to host its annual ministers’ conference, scheduled to take place from Monday, April 13, to Thursday, April 16, 2026.

Known as the International Conference for Ministers and Leaders (ICML), the event will be held at the Foursquare Camp, Kilometre 75, Lagos-Ibadan Expressway, near Ajebo, Ogun State.

The General Overseer of the church, Rev. Sam Aboyeji, announced the details during a press conference on Thursday, April 9, at the International Conference Centre in Idimu, Lagos.

Aboyeji emphasized that the yearly conference reflects the church’s commitment to leadership training and will serve as a significant turning point for all attendees.

Key Speakers and Attendance

Renowned Bible teacher Bro. Gbile Akanni is confirmed to minister alongside Rev. Aboyeji and other seasoned servants of God throughout the week-long program.

The church has already confirmed the registration of over 10,000 ministers, leaders, and workers from both within and outside the Foursquare Gospel Church in Nigeria.

A Rich Heritage of Leadership

Rev. Aboyeji noted that the conference’s roots date back to the 1970s when it was known as the National Leaders and Workers Retreat. It was later rebranded as the ICML to reflect its expanding reach.

He further highlighted the church’s focus on theological education, noting that their training institution, LIFE Theological Seminary, was established in 1955—the same year the church was founded in Nigeria by American missionaries Rev. Harold and Faye Curtis.

Theme: Operating in the Anointing

The theme for the 2026 conference is “Operating in the Anointing,” drawn from Acts 10:38 and 2 Kings 2:9, 15.

”We find this theme to be apt, inspiring, and a clarion call to operate in the realm that our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ expects of us as Christian leaders,” Aboyeji stated.

He further elaborated on the necessity of divine empowerment: stating that the anointing empowers believers to fulfill God’s purpose through transformation, healing, and deliverance.

“Ministry without anointing becomes mere activity; leadership without divine empowerment is burdensome. The anointing is the difference between mere labour and prevailing in victory.” He said.

He said the goal of the church is not only to raise skilled ministers who live as true ambassadors of Christ, exemplifying His character but also to raise committed believers to the cause of Christ..

National Concerns and call for Intercession

Rev. Aboyeji used the occasion to solicit prayers for the security of lives and property in Nigeria.

Expressing deep concern over the global wave of violence and unrest, he specifically lamented the killings and displacement of communities in Northern Nigeria.

”We must not grow weary or indifferent; rather, we must take our place as intercessors, standing in the gap for humanity,” he urged.

He called for sustained support and prayers for the nation’s armed forces and security agencies, acknowledging the daily sacrifices made by men and women on the front lines to defend the nation.
