A Bible teacher, Dele Osunmakinde has noted that the ongoing endSARS protest across the country is quietly snowballing into a revolution.
Osunmakinde who was part of the protest in Lagos today October 14 said in an interview posted on his Facebook wall that he has never seen Nigerians protest in this dimension.
He said, “This is like a great awakening among young people in Nigeria. I have been part of protests for a long while, but I have not seen this kind of protest. One unique thing about this protest is that it is faceless. You don’t really know who is the organiser.
“People from all walks of life, young people from everywhere just gathered and are making demands on government. The difference between this one and other protests also is that it is not political. I believe this protest is quietly snowballing into a revolution.”
He counselled that the government should take advantage of the protest to carry out a far-reaching reform in the police and in other walks of life.
He said, “Beyond the police reforms, we are in dire need of national redemption to end all forms of police, political and mass corruption and brutality.
“The Nigerian government must humble itself and seek help and redemption and seize the moment to make far-reaching reforms across the board.”
He noted that many of the people involved in the protest are not jobless people urging that the government should not take the cry of the people for granted.
Osunmakinde is described on his Facebook account as an envoy with a commission to teach and apply the word as a resource and strategy to transform institutions and societies.
He is noted to have conducted interviews online with several top ministers of the gospel with a view to helping young pastors.
He has consistently used his online platform to reach out to young people in ministry
