Attacked missionary couple: My parents are recovering fast-daughter
Ife Dinma-Fiberesima, daughter of missionary couple, Bayo and Naomi Famonure who were attacked and shot by gunmen on May 5 along with their son and a staff of Famonure’s organisation has said his parents are recovering fast.
A friend of the family, Gideon Para-Mallam, also a foremost missionary and fellow labourer made this known in statement while giving update of the situation with the Famonures.
In the statement tagged further updates, he reproduced the statement of Ife Dinma-Fiberesima who wrote, ‘Both of my parents are doing well and responding to treatment. They have been through an ordeal and it has taken its toll, so they are resting a lot. They still feel lots of pain from the wounds but that is being managed with pain meds.
My mum is able to sit and walk around unaided.
We are thankful for the miraculous speed of recovery, no doubt the relentless prayers of the brethren have touched Heaven. Words cannot fully express our gratitude for the support from everyone. May God bless you.”
It will be recalled that Naomi was shot at the back with the bullet lodged in her back but it was successfully removed through surgery. It was said that God miraculously stopped the bullet which pierced and took residence in her back from causing injury to the spinal cord
Para-Mallam disclosed further that “a team met with the Plateau State Commissioner of Police to discuss in detail the Gana Ropp attack on Uncle Bayo, his wife Naomi, their son Adua’a and a staff Victor. It was a very productive meeting.
“We looked at the security situation beyond the attack and recent attacks during COVID-19 in Bassa (in Irigwe land) and Barakin Ladi LGAs. Please pray that God will use this particular attack to spur action on the part of the Police, Military and State Government to protect lives and properties in Plateau State. God is able to bring something good out of this, then the evil Satan had designed.
“After the meeting, I proceeded to join the ECWA President and his wife who went to visit the Famonures. The ECWA President Rev Stephen Panya Baba prayed over them.
“From what I observed yesterday and heard today, all four are making remarkable progress. This is a clear testimony to answered prayers. Thank you all – Saints for standing with the Famonures at their hour of trial. God is indeed honoring His name through this incident: ‘Some trust in Chariots and some in horses, but we trust the name of the LORD our God.’ Ps 20:7.”
