America’s moral descent and hope for a new awakening by John Abiola

David asked, “How are the mighty fallen in the midst of the battle? O Jonathan, thou wast slain in thine high places. I am distressed for thee, my brother Jonathan: Very pleasant hast thou been unto me: Thy love to me was wonderful, Passing the love of women. How are the mighty fallen, And the weapons of war perished! ( 2 Samuel 1:26-27)

David was shocked. In his shock, he expressed deep love for his friend, Jonathan when he heard the news of his death, that of his father, King Saul, and also the death of many of Israel’s army in the battle against the Philistines.

The Bible revealed the depth of David’s sorrowful heart in verses 11-13 of Samuel chapter 1

,” Then David took hold of his clothes, and rent them; and likewise all the men that were with him: And they mourned, and wept, and fasted until evening, for Saul, and for Jonathan his son, and for the people of the Lord, and for the house of Israel; because they were fallen by the sword”

These scriptures reveal the present state of America. There is no doubt that America has greatly fallen like the fall of an elephant with a loud thud. King Saul died in battle because of sin, he was unfaithful to God, disobedient to His word, and turned from God to other gods by consulting guidance from a medium.

He lost God’s glory, his commission, and his throne to David.

My desire is that by the time you have completed reading this series, God will impress a deep burden and burning passion in your heart, for America. My wish is that you will also agonize for America with fasting and prayer just as I have been doing for a long time now.

A once godly nation

At one time or the other, America was a godly nation whose foundation was founded on God and His precepts, She led in the propagation of the Gospel to the world. She was once the most powerful nation in the world, the most industrialized nation.

America knew God and His precepts. Unfortunately, she has turned away from God and has become a rebellious Nation, now she is among the list of persecutors of Christianity in the world. A great number of Her churches have now legalized lesbianism, gay, bisexual, transgender, and intersexuality.

The prevalent attributes of Africa have been found in America- witchcraft, occultism, and the like are rife in the supposed God’s own country.

In fact, America has blended with the vices of satanism, and she does not keep her things hidden but rather now apparent. So many atrocities that have never happened before in America or were happening are now on the increase in America. That country no doubt is a nation of Destiny, God’s covenant was upon her but sin came and disorganized the plan of God.

Latest reports in September revealed that America is the world’s largest debtor nation: · $31 Trillion Problem U.S Debt – How much debt is the U.S. in? Now at over $31 trillion, the national debt poses a risk to every American’s future”.

The country has also experienced many natural disasters and has been embattled in the last 100 years

Sin, cause of sorrow

When America slipped into sin, she became a rebellious nation, and her inevitable consequences increased day by day. The consequences of sin can not be overstressed. We cannot but hate sin and its domineering force. Our greatest need is to do what the nation of Israel is acquainted with doing when they find themselves in trouble, because of their own sin. What was their immediate action? Repentance (Ezra 10:1) gives a clue to this

My question now is where has America missed God? God says in Psalms 11:3 says, “When the foundation be destroyed what can righteous do? Does America ever have a foundation? If she truly has, what was America’s foundation and how was it tarnished and leveled down? What must be done to restore her foundation? These questions and many more others, I hope to answer in this series.

English dictionary says foundation is that on which upon anything stands, and by which it is supported. Synonyms of the word foundation are groundwork and basis. So, therefore, foundation is an incipient support or laying for an edifice to be built upon.

What then is the foundation that America was built upon? History highlights that the American nation, her foundation was built by the founding fathers on PRAYER but along the line, almost suddenly, America fell into her comfort zone, her place of ease and secular peace.

Military and economic powers turned her heart away from God. She removed prayer from her lifeline, and her communication and relationship with God were broken resulting in the departure of the glory of God, which inevitably opened the door for God’s judgement and various arrows from the devil.

From grace to grass

The result was that America fell from grace to grass, her attributes oozing her present situation are more than palpable for everyone to see and hum. There is a rise in humanism, hedonism, rationalism, idolatry, occultism, witchcraft, gay, and lesbianism. There is a sharp increase in divorce, violence, crime, suicides, and unwanted pregnancies among teenagers.

Americans began worshiping at the altars of greed, materialism, and selfishness. The devil, seeing this opportunity took charge, establishing his government, institutions, and his rule both in the spiritual and natural upon the nation of America. Satan’s cohorts, who carry out his satanic activities, and operations of evil, directed their gaze upon America and used her to proliferate evil and lawlessness around the entire world.

That is one reason why if you find any kind of despicable happening in Nigeria or Africa, you will find out that some of these evil roots sprang from the nation of America, even the prevalent ‘Prosperity’ gospel came to Africa from America. This was the case of Israel in the wilderness when they fell and the whole generation was wiped out except Joshua and Caleb among the old generation that got into the promised land.

“They told Aaron, ‘Make us some gods who can lead us, for we don’t know what has become of this Moses, who brought us out of Egypt.’

So they made an idol shaped like a calf, and they sacrificed to it and rejoiced in this thing they had made.

Then God turned away from them and gave them up to serve the sun, moon, and stars as their gods!
In the Book of the Prophets it is written, ‘Was it to me you were bringing sacrifices during those forty years in the wilderness, Israel? No, your real interest was in your pagan gods… So I will send you into captivity far away in Babylon.” (Acts 7: 40- 43)

If not for the remnants of true believers, the salt of America, God would have destroyed America long ago.

*When was America born?*

America is named after Amerigo Vespucci, the Italian explorer who set forth the then-revolutionary concept that the lands that Christopher Columbus sailed to in 1492 were part of a separate continent. A map created in 1507 by Martin Waldseemüller was the first to depict this new continent with the name “America,” a Latinized version of “Amerigo.”

Then on September 9, 1776, the Second Continental Congress gave a new name to what had been called the “United Colonies.” it was named ‘the moniker the United States of America’

Let’s take a brief but in-depth look at the founding fathers of America: George Washington, Thomas Jefferson, John Adams, Benjamin Franklin, Alexander Hamilton, John Jay, and James Madison. While there were many others who contributed to the founding of the United States, these seven are considered by most as the Founding Fathers.

George Washington’s Prayer

What happened to America

Such was a sincere and honest prayer of the founding fathers of the Nation, America. It was one of such that America, a nation of Destiny was laid upon. Why then has America digressed from the precepts of the God of Heaven?
Let’s go down memory lane to rummage the days of America’s glory and God’s commission upon her.

“Once upon a time, as Historical as the past, the glory of God was upon America. God commissioned America to take the gospel of the Kingdom to every Nation of the world. During those days, she never failed with what was placed upon her, she made use of it, preaching the gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ to the rest of the world.

Back in the past centuries. America shook the world with the gospel, and many American clerics, preachers, and intercessors were anointed with fire to proliferate the move of the Holy Spirit. Vessels like Jonathan Edwards, John Wesley, Charles G. Finney, George Whitefield, Gilbert Tennent, Jonathan Dickinson, Samuel Davies, William, Ashley Sunday, Billy Graham, T.L Osborne, Morris Cerullo, Lestral Summral, Oral Roberts just to mention but a few saw great results in their nation and around the world.

They turned the world upside down for Christ. Many of us were inspired and changed through them and some had foundation from them. Then, America was fulfilling her mandate which provoked God to move tremendously in her to the extent that people termed it “God’s Own land”.

God blessed her mightily both in national affairs and spiritual affairs. America then became the most powerful nation in the world, her security and defense operation was top-notch, and other Nations looked up to her. America prospered greatly.

Their Motto: “God We Trust” was inscribed on their national currency.

They abandoned prayer

But along the line, America lost it and a nation that built its foundation on prayer, who firmly trusted in God, decided in their senate that schools no longer needed prayer and the word of God.

They threw away the Bible from their schools, and so many atrocities were institutionalized into their schools, like approval and assent to gays and lesbians, and assent to demonic and satanic books for students.

God was not pleased with these abominations and rebellion against His word, this made the glory, light, and power of God depart suddenly away from them, and the wrath and judgement of God began.

So, the inevitable result is what is ongoing in America presently. The church is now sleeping and slumbering, Many prophets, and full-time intercessors have abandoned their primary assessment of standing in the gap, on their knees in prophetic warfare and strategic prayers and fasting in solitude against the hosts of darkness and for the sake of the Church and the nation. They have become traveling teachers, rejoicing overseas, abandoning their own nation which is wide open for Satanic attacks, deceptions, and lies.

The majority of church leaders, especially the evangelical, pentecostal, and charismatic background have derailed into their comfort zones and have lost biblical principles and values.

Hitherto, America is not the same spiritually and naturally. She disconnected from her source -founded on Christ’s moral principles. The promiscuous era(free morals) proliferated into her, which brought an increase in sin. The nation that was all out for God gradually turned away from God.

Legitmisation of sodomy

They now have a penchant for the things of the world.  Beyond these perversions, America is currently and indirectly number one on the list of the world’s persecutors of Christianity, pushing nations to adopt and inscribe in their constitutions or face sanctions.

Reports reveal that 34 nations have adopted this sodomized agenda.

God was grieved with these abominable abominations, but in His agape love and mercy, because of the sacrifice and blood of Jesus Christ that brought her redemption, He began to call Americans back to repentance.

They heeded for a moment but then slumped back into a worse state. The American church has slipped into division concerning gay marriage. Those church leaders who are against same-sex and gay marriage are in the minority according to the report.

*American intercessor, Gary writes on God’s coming judgement and destruction of America. “Declaration passed by Congress, 1854; The great, vital, and conservative element in our system is the belief of our people in the pure doctrines and the divine truths of the Gospel of Jesus Christ.”*

Throughout the first half of the 20th century, progressive liberalism grew, rejecting all constraints of religious faith and the Bible, to the point where on 25th June 1962, America, as a nation, officially declared war on God.

Now a secular nation

With prayer removed from our schools and soon the Bible banned, we surrendered our children to the godless teachings of atheists. Christianity was soon looked down upon and the result was profound. Within one generation, America went from being a predominantly Christian nation to a predominantly secular nation, even as we gave our children up to the enemy.

Between 1920 and 2020, America went from being a creditor nation to the world’s largest debtor nation.

1920 – $26 billion credit surplus
2020 – $26 TRILLION debt shortfall

Nevertheless, America’s war against God continued:

1973, U.S. Supreme Court case, Roe v. Wade, affirmed that access to safe and legal abortion is a constitutional right: -Over 60 million abortions in the US alone
– Abortions per day: 2362+
– Abortions per hour: 98+
– 1 abortion every 96 seconds
– Hardest Hit: Blacks, though comprising only 13.4% of the population, make up the majority of all abortions
– White: 35%
– Black: 38% (Blacks had abortions 5x greater than Whites)
– Hispanic: 18.8%
– Other: 8.2%

In the 1960s, women’s liberation movements and the sexual revolution took hold of America, permanently lowering the moral standards across the country. Decade by decade, America’s moral standards were taken down lower and lower, to where they were thrown out altogether.

The rejection of God in America put us on a path of increasing depravity. As America continued its rebellion against God, God responded by sending a severe warning on September 11, 2001, when 19 Islamic extremists flew two planes into New York’s World Trade Center buildings. It was the largest attack on American soil since Pearl Harbor was attacked in 1941.

On June 26, 2015, the U.S. Supreme Court held in a 5–4 decision that the Fourteenth Amendment requires all states to grant same-sex marriages and recognize same-sex marriages granted in other states”

Time to return back to God

With all this catastrophe that has befallen America what is her only remedy? The answer is inevitable. America should turn back to God, which God will provoke with His able rod of Judgement. When a nation whom God loves is incessantly obdurate, what He does is to correct them and bring them back with whip and whack.

This whip is of judgment. The primary aim of God’s judgement is to bring the backslidden people and nation back to Him in genuine repentance. When this judgemental plan is completed, then God’s mighty and second move of revival would be emptied upon her.

God judged Sodom and Gomorrah so that other cities would learn to live righteously in accordance with the word of God in Isaiah 26:8-10.

This Scripture suggests the importance of judgment that provokes repentance. If America must get back to God with immediacy and permanency then, God’s mighty rod of Judgement would be thumped upon her for the purpose of her change and transformation.

Recent reports revealed that witchcraft, occultism, paganism, and Islam are fast growing in America. This includes Wicca, paganism, folk magic, and other New Age traditions -one of the fastest-growing spiritual paths in America.
That is one of many reasons why America must return back to God in close communion with him.

Conclusively, is there any hope for America to return to her foundation of prayer? Why has the mighty America fallen? What is the fate of the great coming revival? Is there hope for revival in America again? Can the lost glory of America be restored? Can America ever commune back with God?
To give answers to the questions above, let’s dive into a vision I received from God:

*Vision on Global Fast Day.*

While I was on my knees deeply agonizing in prayer,…I saw a ladder..Then, I saw written in the sky “JESUS IS THE LORD OF ALL NATIONS OF THE EARTH”.

After this, Jesus proclaimed, in answer to the prayers of my people. I will destroy the gods and powers of the Nations. *America shall rise again!.*

Also, Boldly written on the sky was the inscription ” AFRICA, GO TO ALL THE WORLD FOR THE HARVEST, FOR THIS IS YOUR ASSIGNMENT IN THIS CENTURY”…

Based on this vision and other visions and prophecies I received from the Lord, I strongly believe that America shall rise up again. An exceeding prayer revival is coming to America that will awaken Americans.

A new generational army of prophetic intercessors and intercessors is arising. This will lead her to rise up for her prophetic destiny just as Saul was in the past a persecutor of Christians but God saved him, and he was raised from his fallen state to became an Apostle who took the Gospel to the entire world. Acts 26:14-20.

*Praying for Revival in America:* More reason you should join this prayer, the Israel- Hamas wars that began on October 7, have escalated and might predictably lead to WWW3 where billions of people’s lives become wasted.

Prayer for America, Israel, and Nigeria

Therefore, Let’s keep our prayer fuel for Israel, and Nigeria and also in addition pray for America during our one-hour prayer every day. (“Watch with Me one hour”-Mat.26:40). Also I invite God’s chosen Intercessors to join me in prayer and fasting on June 30 every year for revival in America. wherever you are across the globe. Jesus says, “Rise, and stand upon thy feet.”( Acts 26:16). The American church shall rise and be revived again.

This is an Intercessors Day of prayer for America’s revival. A great prayer Revival is coming. New generational armies of prophets and Intercessors are rising again!!!.
