Sarah Omakwu: Stay safe, use your nose mask
Pastor of Abuja-based Family Worship Centre, Sarah Omakwu, who recently survived a covid-19 attack has pleaded with Nigerians not to joke about the virus saying “it is not fake news. It is real”
Omakwu in a video shared on her Facebook timeline told her church members on Sunday, December 13 that she made the broadcast to save lives.
She said one of the things covid-19 attacks is the blood clotting saying her own was over 4000 when she was tested.
The normal reading should be between 0 and 4000.
She said she had a terrible fever and the doctors checked and saw that the blood clotting was over 4000 adding that she had to go through covid-19 treatment and also took blood-thinning drugs.
She wondered where she got the virus from despite being one of those who exercised so much care in church and all around.
She said, “As you can tell, I am the headmistress of facemask. I go about telling people to wear their facemask. I don’t know where I got it from. I have thought far and near wondering where I got it from. If I knew where I got it from, I will be happy. I don’t know if I got it from Church. I don’t want anybody to get it from the church.”
She disclosed that a bottle of the drug they give for covid-19 patients now cost as much as N450,000 . “the patients are expected to take at least 6 of the bottles.”
She pleaded with her congregation not to joke about the virus noting that more people are getting sick it of it.
Omakwu who said she has gotten over the virus said she could not attend the church’s thanksgiving service because on that day she was reeling in pain in her bed.
Though well now, she said she now gets tired easily pleading that she would only give her offering and go back home to rest and watch the sermon on TV.
She said she would have loved to die because many people are waiting for her in heaven, but that she would want to stay alive for the sake of the people who depend on her.
