Mrs. Titi Akindayomi-Adewale, daughter of the founder of the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG), has debunked reports making the rounds that she said some senior pastors of the church do not know her father was the founder of the church and that she was advocating that his legacy be preserved
She issued the denial on her Facebook page on Monday, August 3, urging those spreading the rumor to desist immediately.
According to her, she never made such a statement, either directly or indirectly. She noted that her father never brought them up to depend on material acquisitions or revel in earthly glory, adding that her father’s image on any earthly edifice cannot be compared to his eternal home.
She also expressed full support for the leadership of the RCCG and prayed for the continued success of General Overseer of the church, Pastor Enoch Adeboye.

”I am Pastor Titilayo Adewale, one of the daughters of Pa Josiah Olufemi Akindayomi, founder of The Redeemed Christian Church of God.
My attention has been drawn to a statement attributed to me regarding The Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG), Pastor E.A. Adeboye, and the legacy of my father.
In the statement, it was claimed that I asserted many senior RCCG pastors are unaware of my father as the founder of the church and that I advocated for preserving his legacy.
I want to clarify that the statement attributed to me is not from me, either implicitly or explicitly. For the record, Baba’s image or lack thereof on any edifice on earth is nothing compared to making Heaven and his face being recognized there.
Regarding legacy, the most significant legacy is not buildings or institutions, but individuals. My father consistently believed in building people rather than merely constructing buildings.
He never believed in acquiring wealth or earthly possessions. It was a challenge to convince my father to own a building because he was not convinced of its value. If he was unwilling to own a personal residence, how could he or any of his children be bothered if his name is not associated with buildings or institutions? It doesn’t add up!
It doesn’t make sense that he would have desired the kind of recognition suggested by the authors or instigators of this article.
In my opinion, this report and similar ones are not about me, my father, or even the leadership of the RCCG. Instead, they are intended to create unnecessary arguments and division. Their purpose is to divert attention from the divine work currently being carried out and sow discord among us.
I urge the individuals propagating these false narratives to cease their actions and desist forthwith from any further mischievous acts of misinformation, or face the biblically assured divine judgment due to unrepentant evil perpetrators. If not, surrender your total being to Him today; He is a merciful God, and tomorrow may be too late.
I pray for continued support and strength for Pastor E.A. Adeboye and his family. I pray that God will enhance the wisdom of the leadership of the RCCG.
