Church Growth International, a para-church organization known for training church leaders and equipping them with ministry skills for over three decades, is set to hold a two-day ministers’ conference.
The conference, themed “Clarity Amid Local and Global Challenges,” will take place from Thursday, September 17, to Friday, September 18, at the Growth Center, located at at 6/8 Mukadaz Close, Royal Estate, Iyana-Odo Bus Stop, Isheri-Igando Road, Lagos.
The conference will focus on guiding church leaders on how to navigate difficult times in ministry.
The president of the ministry, Dr. Kemi Akin-John, said the need for such a meeting cannot be overemphasized.
“The reality facing us today is that there is burnout, stress, and confusion everywhere, both locally and globally. What is happening in Nigeria is happening across the globe; the only difference is the dimension. In Nigeria’s case, economic hardship is directly impacting the church community,” she said.
“There is hardship all over the world too, though the impact varies. This has had a significant effect on the church, leading to apathy among members. Some pastors are confused about what to do, having tried every method to no avail.
“However, this conference will be a time for us to share wisdom and knowledge to strengthen and encourage one another on how to stay focused despite these challenging times.”
Mrs. Akin-John, who has been leading the ministry since the passing of her husband and founding president, Dr. Bola Akin-John, noted that despite the hard times and growing apathy, some churches are still thriving without compromising the truth of the gospel.
She added that the conference will provide an opportunity for church leaders to learn from one another and put those lessons into practice.
“I believe the Lord will use this conference to transform pastors and church leaders, helping them refocus on their calling so they are not discouraged. I urge pastors to make time to participate in this two-day event,” she stated.
Dr. Yemi Omoniyi, one of the conference facilitators, added that the event will be a time for pastors to “receive deep insight, fresh direction, and Spirit-led clarity for the exact hour we are living in.”
