American tele-evangelist, Benny Hinn has expressed shock over the division among Christians in America over the country’s political situation wondering why the Church allowed itself to be divided over President Donald Trump.
In a broadcast monitored on Nation Scoop, by Church Times Hinn said, “I am in shock today that our present problem in America is causing division in the church.”
He noted that people have made Trump the saviour saying emphatically that he is not. “Trump is not the saviour. He is not Jesus. People made trump the saviour and he is not. He is only a man from New York with a lot of money.”
While urging Americans to stop the undue idolisation of Trump he said, “How can you live in the spirit and be involved in politics and be arguing with your brothers and sisters about politics. What did Paul say to Timothy, a soldier must not be entangled with the affairs of this life.”
He decried the division in the American church saying, “If you want freedom, and the freedom that Jesus has promised us, be free from this world completely because the ways of the flesh are not the ways of God.”
